---------------------------------------------------------
After your unexpected clash with Tanahashi, you found yourself in the hospital.
It was becoming a regular occurrence. Considering how often you found yourself fighting against villains without warning, it shouldn't come as too big of a surprise.
That didn't mean that you tolerated it.
You stared blankly at the door across from your hospital bed, with an angry expression on your face. You were too deep in thought for you to even consider changing the look on you it face.
But that didn't matter, because if your expression matched your thoughts, you'd still look displeased.
That angry stare was still on your face when Aizawa entered the room.
He already had an air of seriousness about him, but when he saw the look on your face, a similar look appeared on his.
"I heard what happened to you. What I want to know is, what was done to you." Aizawa commanded, with a hint of worry in his voice.
"I suppose it isn't too obvious. The entire length of my back was cut into, and as you can see, IV isn't the only thing that's strapped to me." You answered, your voice flat.
You motioned your head towards the bags that hung on the stand. Sure enough, next to the IV pack, a blood pack was also connected you.
"I also drained most of my energy trying to keep myself alive. That includes healing the slash across my back. I had hoped to save it for healing only, but I ended up using my quirk to fight him as well."
"I guess that we also traded blows a lot, but that really wasn't a big deal. To me, or to him. Oh, and of course."
You raised your left hand up to show him the damage to your fingers.
Your four fingers were all cut to the same length by Tanahashi's slash. Your pinky wasn't spared, but it was the finger that was cut down the least.
Of course, that meant that your other three fingers were less than half their size.
Aizawa nodded along with everything that you told him.
He was about to speak before you cut him off.
"What the hell was that Aizawa? How, how did Tanahashi find me? How did he escape? He should be in prison, while he waits for his trial.
I'm sure you know much more than I do, so go ahead. Tell me everything you've learned."
Your tone of voice was aggressive, to say the least. Aizawa seemed to understand that you were upset, but he clearly didn't like you talking to him in that way.
Nevertheless, he answered all of your questions, with one simple sentence.
"We don't know."
"What?" You let out, not sure if you heard correctly.
"From what I've been told, there's very little for me to tell you.
Tanahashi wasn't caught on any surveillance cameras. The only thing we have about his escape is testimony from the few guards and heroes that crossed his path.
As for how he escaped, the door to his space in solitary confinement was opened, and cleanly at that. Somehow."
You let out several sounds of disbelief all in one second. When you responded to him, frustration was in your voice.
"Somehow? Is that really all you can tell me? Am I just supposed to accept that "explanation" Aizawa?"
