Y/n stood at the edge of the observation deck on the starship *Celestial Breeze*, her eyes locked onto the swirling nebulae that stretched infinitely before her. The stars, once symbols of wonder, now seemed like distant, indifferent spectators to her pain. She had wandered the galaxies, searching for meaning, yet each discovery only deepened her sense of insignificance.

"What does it all mean?" she whispered to herself, the void answering in its silent, uncaring way. The cold metal beneath her feet felt like the last connection she had to anything real, and even that was slipping away.

The notion of ending it all had become her constant companion. Here, in the vastness of space, it would be easy. She could step off into the void and let it consume her—no pain, no struggle, just an end to the overwhelming emptiness that gnawed at her soul.

But just as she leaned forward, a voice, soft and unexpected, broke through her thoughts. "Hey, um... you okay?"

Startled, Y/n turned to see a young man standing awkwardly a few feet away. His presence seemed out of place among the alien delegates and cosmic wonders that filled the *Celestial Breeze*. He had a kind, albeit nervous, smile and eyes that held a warmth she hadn't seen in a long time.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice flat.

"Elio," he replied, stepping closer but not too close. "I, uh, kind of ended up here by accident. They think I'm some sort of ambassador, but I'm really just a regular guy."

Y/n's gaze drifted back to the stars. "You're not supposed to be here."

"Neither are you," Elio replied gently. "Not here, like this."

She didn't respond, but something in his tone made her pause. He didn't sound like the others who had tried to console her, those who offered empty platitudes or tried to fix her with hollow words. There was a sincerity in him that was almost... comforting.

Elio, noticing the deep sadness in her eyes, didn't push. Instead, he did what came naturally to him—he talked.

"I used to feel like you do, you know," he said, his voice low and steady. "Lost, like nothing I did mattered in the grand scheme of things. I mean, look at this place!" He gestured to the vastness around them. "It's easy to feel small, like we're just tiny specs in the universe's great big story."

Y/n's eyes flickered with a hint of curiosity. "And what changed?"

Elio scratched the back of his head, thinking. "I think it was when I realized that just because we're small doesn't mean we don't matter. It's like... okay, have you ever seen a galaxy up close?"

She nodded slightly, still skeptical but listening.

"Each star, each planet, even the tiniest meteor—it all has a place in the galaxy. It all contributes to this beautiful, intricate dance that makes up the universe. And sure, any one of those things alone might not seem like much, but together? Together, they're everything."

Y/n turned to look at him fully now. "And you think that applies to people? To me?"

Elio nodded, his smile growing more confident. "Absolutely. We all have our part to play, even if we don't see it right away. And I think... I think maybe we're meant to find each other, to help each other see that we're not alone. That we do matter."

For the first time in a long while, Y/n felt something stir within her—a small flicker of hope. But the darkness hadn't let go yet. "But what if I can't find that meaning? What if it's too late?"

Elio's expression softened, and he took a step closer, holding out his hand. "It's never too late, Y/n. Sometimes, we just need a reminder that we're not alone in this. How about a hug? It's not much, but... it's something."

Y/n hesitated, but something in Elio's eyes—his earnestness, his belief in her—made her take his hand. As he pulled her into a warm embrace, something incredible happened.

The stars above them seemed to pulse with light, and Y/n felt as though she was being wrapped not just in Elio's arms, but in the very fabric of the universe itself. It was as if the galaxies, the nebulae, and all the stars were joining in this embrace, reminding her that she was part of something vast and beautiful.

Tears welled up in her eyes, but for the first time, they weren't tears of despair. She felt the weight of the universe, but not as a burden—rather, as a connection to something greater. The void that had consumed her was filled with warmth, light, and the comforting knowledge that she was not, and never would be, alone.

When they finally pulled apart, Y/n looked at Elio with a new sense of clarity. "Thank you," she whispered.

Elio smiled, his eyes shining with relief and happiness. "Anytime. Remember, you're not just a speck in the universe—you're a part of its story. And that's something worth sticking around for."

Y/n nodded, a small but genuine smile forming on her lips. She wasn't cured of her darkness, but she no longer felt like it was her only option. For the first time, she felt like she could fight it, like she had something—and someone—worth fighting for.

As they stood together, the stars above seemed to twinkle just a little brighter, as if the universe itself was celebrating this small victory—a victory of light over darkness, of hope over despair, and of connection over isolation.
