Y/n lay curled up in her bed, the soft glow of her phone illuminating her face in the dim room. It had been two weeks since she last set foot on campus, two weeks since her panic attack had spiraled into an existential crisis that kept her tethered to her apartment. Her heart raced every time she thought about returning to college, facing the crowded lecture halls, the judgmental stares, and the weight of her own insecurities. But more than anything, she missed him—Jinu, her singing professor, her boyfriend, the man whose touch made her believe in love despite her fears of messing it all up.
Her eyes lingered on the last message he'd sent, a cheeky text that made her lips twitch into a reluctant smile: "What's the difference between a G-spot and a golf ball? A guy will actually look for a golf ball." Typical Jinu, always slipping in a dirty joke to make her laugh, even when she was drowning in her own head. She hadn't responded, hadn't called, hadn't even opened his messages since. Guilt gnawed at her. "It's been difficult for me to trust," she thought, echoing the lyrics that had been looping in her mind. "And I'm afraid that I'ma fuck it up. Ain't no way that I can leave you stranded. 'Cause you ain't ever left me empty-handed."
Jinu's absence felt like a void. She missed his straight black hair falling into his dark brown eyes, the way his pierced ears glinted under the lecture hall lights, and the muscular build that made her feel safe when he held her.
"When I'm away from you, I miss your touch. You're the reason I believe in love," she whispered to herself, clutching her phone. The lyrics felt like a confession, a plea for him to stay despite her silence. "And you know that I know that I can't live without you. So, baby, stay."
The next morning, Y/n forced herself out of bed. Her heart pounded as she dressed for class, her hands trembling as she pulled on a skirt and a fitted top. She couldn't hide forever. Jinu deserved better than her ghosting him, and she needed to face him, to face herself. The campus loomed ahead, its towering buildings casting long shadows that mirrored the doubts in her mind. But she pushed forward, driven by the thought of seeing him again.
The first bell rang as she slipped into the music building, its quiet chime sending a shiver down her spine. Almost like a vibration strong enough to wake something in me, she thought, a playful smirk crossing her lips as she recalled Jinu's suggestive humor. The second bell was louder, more insistent, and she felt a flush of warmth, her body reacting to the anticipation of seeing him. By the time she reached the lecture hall, her nerves were a tangled mess, but she squared her shoulders and stepped inside.
Jinu stood at the front, his presence commanding as always. His black hair was slightly tousled, his pale skin glowing under the fluorescent lights, and his muscular frame filled out his button-up shirt in a way that made Y/n's breath catch. He was mid-lecture, his voice rich and melodic, but his eyes found hers the moment she entered. A flicker of concern crossed his face, quickly masked by his usual charm.
"Y/n," he called out as the other students filed out after class, his tone firm but gentle. "Stay behind for a moment."
Her heart raced as the room emptied, leaving just the two of them. She approached the front, her hands fidgeting with the hem of her skirt. Jinu leaned against his desk, arms crossed, his pierced ears catching the light. "Two weeks, Y/n," he said softly, his dark brown eyes searching hers. "No calls, no texts. I was worried."
