*Eli's P.O.V*
"It was nice of you, Hawk, to have us over for dinner." Miguel said as we sat at the kitchen table, eating Taco Bell.
"I figured we could use a boys' night." I shrugged, diving into my chicken taco.
"What's up with you though?" Demetri asked as he applied hot sauce onto his own taco.
"What do you mean?"
"I can tell when something is bothering you, Eli."
Classic Demetri. He knows me so well because he can probably see it on my face. My emotions give it away so fast and I hate that. I hate it when he is able to just sense something is wrong. But it also makes him unique and why I love having him as my binary brother.
"How are you able to tell?" Miguel asked Demetri.
"He's my best friend." Demetri pointed at me. "We've been friends since kindergarten. I know him better than he knows himself."
"No need to show off." I said.
"Ignore that." He said, "Tell us what's up."
I sighed. "Amy and I are in a fight."
"That's a first." Demetri said.
Miguel gave him a look before he said, "What happened? Are you guys having relationship problems?"
"It's not even about our relationship." I said, "It's about something else."
"Define something else."
It's probably best that I'm talking about this with them because they were at the frat party too. They'll be able to listen to what I have to say and then hopefully they can provide some kind of advice. I would take any kind if it meant that Amy and I are good with each other. Being away from her is killing me.
"We're in a fight because of the frat party." I said.
Miguel and Demetri looked at each other before Miguel said, "The one where we went with Kyler and Brucks?"
"Yes, that's the one."
"Why are you guys fighting about that?" Demetri asked.
"It's because of Kyler."
"Why are you guys fighting about Kyler? That's the weirdest reason to be fighting about."
"Apparently not." I said, "It really irked her when I talked to her about it."
"Why?" Miguel asked.
"She didn't explain much but it was something to do with Sam. How Kyler did something bad to her. Then she hated how I was somewhat defending him, saying that maybe he changed. Then she went on about how he doesn't have any redeeming qualities and then somewhat implied that I don't have any either."
"Man, that's rough." Demetri said as he took a sip of his freeze.
"And you guys haven't talked since?" Miguel asked.
"I tried talking to her at the dojo earlier today. She wasn't having it."
It honestly broke my heart with how Amy talked to me at the dojo today. It seemed like she was a different person and not my sweet love that I've come to know since last year and in the eight months we've been dating. It felt like I was in another dimension where she hated my guts and wanted nothing to do with me. I'm surprised I was even able to concentrate when I was training today. I was able to be in a conversation with Chris, Nate, and Kenny about the news dropping tomorrow about where the Sekai Taikai will be located. I hope it's somewhere cool.
