*Amy's P.O.V*
"It's for certain that we're going onto the final six, right?" Tory asked me as she helped me out with putting flags along my karate gi.
"It would make sense." I said as I would pay attention to her move as she attached the flags.
Right when we arrived at Miyagi-Do, we were told to put these flags onto our gis so that we can participate in the next challenge. So I was with Tory as Eli is with Miguel at the moment. I do feel confident about this next challenge, I was ready. I've been feeling a bit better lately so I think I can handle something like this.
"I thought it was obvious from the start who would be the six to compete in the Sekai Taikai."
"I say the same." I agreed with her. "But the senseis' didn't want to choose because then they'll be biased so they are having Mike Barnes decide."
"Either way, I think we have a good shot."
"I think so too." I nodded with a laugh.
"Have you talked to Hawk about the tournament?"
"Not really." I shook my head. "I mean, a few words here and there but nothing serious. We have a million things to focus on and it's hard to keep track."
"You know how to balance really well though, I'm sure you can handle it all."
"Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't."
"Are you always this hard on yourself?" Tory then asked me.
"No." I said, "But sometimes, stress becomes so much. It can take a toll on me at times and I have to find my way to work through it."
"Well, don't give up."
"I won't."
"I think the challenge is about to start.." Tory looked towards the senseis', "I think we should get going to join the rest of the dojo."
"Yeah, I think it's about to start too." I looked in the same direction as her.
"Let's go." She sent me a smile.
I followed her lead and we went to where everyone else was. We got onto the sparring deck in two rows, where we would be in a face off. I was standing in between Sam and Tory, but I was directly in front of Eli. I gave him a slight smirk and he gave one back to me before we could listen to what Mike Barnes had to say.
"Today's challenge is a Battle Royale.." Mike said, "The rules are simple. Protect your flags but steal the others. You lose your flags and you're out. The ones who have the most flags at the end of the challenge will be going to Barcelona. The rest of you will be judged on performance. You have two minutes. Ready?"
We bowed to each other before we got into our fighting positions. These people are my friends, and one of them happens to be my boyfriend but I will be fighting for myself during this challenge.
"And fight!" Mike yelled.
Devon immediately went after me and I was ready to duke it out with her, especially with how she talked to me yesterday.
When she would try to grab one of my flags, I would dodge her every move and back up when she tried to hit me with a kick. When she wasn't facing me, I grabbed one of her flags.
Then after Devon, I was up against my cousin, Anthony. I nodded to him before trying to fight him. He did a good job going up against me with what he had learned, he would dodge and so would I but I was able to get one of his flags when his arm was out.
Sam came up to me and it was time for us as well. I love going up against her because of how evenly matched we are.
While facing each other, we'll throw out the punches as we would circle around at times. When I accidentally lifted my leg to perform a kick, I wasn't quick enough to move it away and she was able to grab a flag. But I was also able to steal one of hers as well.
