Dom POV:
I have not slept well since I stayed at Mateo's. I've been irritable working for Management, and I'm not feeling good.
I've tried to relax once I get home, but I'm overwhelmed by everything.
No wonder Ven and Ritz went on troll. I can't wait to get to take Mateo out, so his presence can help act as an outlet for me to let loose.
I want to make his experience good, so I feel lots of pressure. It's not helping that I had to work overtime this week to get ready for our upcoming tour.
I have no interest in going on a tour, but it seems I have no choice. Whatever, I'm giving Johnny and Brandon all creative control. If they care about it, that's fine. I used to care about being in control; now I just don't.
I shake my head and go to my pool room to get to my bedroom. The pool swirls and shimmers, making me feel a little uneasy. If Mateo were ever to come over, I wonder what his thoughts on the pool would be.
I ignore the body of water and get ready. I guess I can go casual. Should I be casual? It's an amusement park, so shorts and T-shirt? I hope so because that's what I'm going with. I'm so worried about looking weird and making him look bad for being out with me.
I sigh and stare at myself. My eyes used to be my favorite feature about myself. Now... I hate them. I hate how striking and mean I look. I hate how scary I come off, I hate how... I just look like my old self.
I leave my apartment angry and stressed. However, on the long drive, I feel better as I realize I get to see Mateo again. Once I reach his ranch, I feel a lot better.
I park and wait for him to come out. I enjoy the desert-like plains and rolling fields, which are dotted with soft prairie flowers in a rainbow assortment of colors.
Huh... it's pretty out here.
I sense someone coming and watch as Mateo leaves his ranch and walks down the dirt path to me. He's dressed in jeans, cowboy boots, and a pretty floral button-up. Damn... he looks good. I think my favorite part of his look is his purple cowboy hat.
Flowers, animals, and little sparkles are stitched along the brim and hat. Mateo opens my car door and smirks.
Mateo: "We take my truck? I want to show you something fun."
I raise my eyebrow and nod. Then I turn off my car and walk over to his truck.
Mateo opens his truck door and offers his hand to me. He helps me up, then walks to his side.
I look around the inside of his truck, admiring the glitter and paint everywhere.
He climbs in and smiles.
Mateo: "We go to the park, but I want to have fun."
He reaches over and puts my seatbelt on before patting my shoulder.
Dom: "What's your definition of fun driving?"
Mateo smirks again before turning in the radio. Fast-playing music sounds, making me look at him with wide eyes before he backs up and speeds out of the space he is parked in.
He cheers and takes his hat off, waving it out the window as he speeds down the dirt road.
He laughs and puts his hat back on before reaching his arm over my chest and holding me.
He spins the truck, making me laugh at how funny the feeling in my stomach feels.
He straightens the truck and laughs as he slows down.
