Couture Cooks Part 2

Mateo POV:

The commercial break ends, and the TV flashes back to the Couture Cooks logo. Kid Ritz smiles as the camera flashes to Midori by a glittery door.

Kid Ritz: "Alright, Midori! I think our viewers have waited long enough! Can we see who's behind the door?"

Midori: "You sure can! We have double trouble here today... Welcome... Brandon and Johnny to the show!"

Blue glitter explodes in the air as Johnny and Brandon explode from the door. Fans in the audience scream as a short snippet from one of the Sage Boyz songs plays out. I look at Dom in confusion, seeing the stunned look on his face.

The camera flashes back to Kid Ritz, who doesn't seem to realize it's back on him. His face is as shocked as we are. He quickly corrects his attitude and puts on a bright smile.

Kid Ritz: "Well! Who knew we'd have twice the trouble here to help us in the kitchen today? We have two out of the three members of the Sage Boyz before us! I know Sage Boyz fans at home have got to be on the edge of their seats to see what you guys will cook up! Take it away, Midori."

I don't say anything as Dom stares at his brothers. Were they going to tell us they... brought on his brothers... without him? Dom's silent as Johnny and Brandon hurry over to Veneer and Carlos. They give them bro handshakes, which Ven lands perfectly, yet Carlos narrowly gets.

Ven: "Well, we weren't excepting you guys! I think we're in for a wild ride, Carlos!"

Carlos nods, looking warily at the pair.

Midori: "Okay, Ven! Carlos! You guys have lasagna as your task food to work with. Your challenge with the lasagna is..."

The camera flashes to an animated wheel that spins. It slows... zooming in to show their challenge.

Midori: "Oo! You guys got the 'Glamourous Garnish' challenge! Looks like you guys have to get creative! Boys? What are you hoping Ven and Carlos will garnish their lasagna with?"

Johnny: "Hmm. I like gold... and money, so put that into the food!"

Midori: "Alright, a gold garnish! Shiny yet still should be edible, so good luck, boys! Brandon? What are your thoughts!"

Brandon: "I want the lasagna to sparkle. Add glitter."

Midori: "Glittery lasagna? I think that's a first! Now, what the boys have to keep in mind is that anyone at home should be able to replicate this! They have an expensive challenge if they incorporate gold into their garnishes! Well, let's leave them to it! Great suggestions from the Sage Boyz for our Couture Cooks! Cheers to them for their first challenge! Best of luck, guys!"

Brandon and Johnny nod before walking off the set with Midori. The cameras zoom into Ven and Carlos talking nervously. It doesn't look like they planned for this to happen, but this is a live show. Live daytime television can't always have everything planned out, so hopefully, things work out.

Even though it was prerecorded a few days ago, our friends weren't thinking of telling Dom that his brothers went on without him. I would have assumed Carlos would have given me a heads-up. I don't know why, but things just feel weird now that it's apparent they went on with this showing and didn't give us a heads-up. Maybe they just wanted this to be a surprise?

Yeah... we'll go with that.

Kid Ritz: "I think they've just about gotten their ideas. Boys? You ready?"

Veneer and Carlos nod, the two looking more confident.

Ven: "We are going to use gold leaf paper for our garnish and glittery, golden edible glitter. That way, the glitter isn't overbearing, and we can have that elegant gold look without breaking the bank and using real gold leaves."
