Kid Ritz POV:
I gasp as I feel his teeth sink into my neck. It hurts, but that's not the only thing I'm experiencing.
I feel an indescribable feeling flush through my body. I feel my veins soak up the magic, a cold, tingling sensation jolting through my heart and lungs.
I can see the glow from my eyes reflected against Roman's black eyes. I stare at him, panting as my body tries to adjust to the magic now a part of me.
Roman stares me down, the world around me slowing and swirling.
Roman: *c a n y o u h e a r m e?*
Kid Ritz: *y e s...*
Roman smiles as my world shifts back.
Kid Ritz: "Holy shit..."
Roman: "How do you feel?"
Kid Ritz: "Like... I can do anything. I bet this is how V felt on troll."
Roman: "Your injuries are gone."
I twist around, looking at myself in the vanity mirror. My eyes are slowly dimming, yet I can see golden yellow flecks now dotting my indigo irises.
Kid Ritz: "Dude... that's wild. I feel like I can run a marathon... go to the gym for hours... bro, I bet my skating would be top-notch if I could try it out."
Roman: "I'm sure all of that is true, and you could probably do it with different circumstances. What you need to keep in mind is the difficulty of learning to keep yourself in control. Your focus, your energy, it's all different now. What's different from Veneer's experience is I am here to guide you."
Kid Ritz: "Wow... alright then. Do you think I should tell Rollie and Fred? You know what? It doesn't matter. They'll find out soon enough. I'm starving; are you starving? I'm sure you're starving. You've been locked up forever, so."
I hop off the vanity, hugging Roman tightly before practically skipping to the kitchen. Wow! I feel great! Being a Siren doesn't seem too bad yet.
I get to the kitchen, pour myself a glass of water, and down the whole thing in one go. I search the fridge, finding soup and heating a bowl of it.
Roman pops his head in the kitchen, presumably to check I haven't run off to do a light ten-mile jog.
Roman: "I'm going to shower off this worm goo, ok? Don't freaking jump off a bridge to see if you can survive the impact, ok?"
Kid Ritz: "Okie dokie."
He leaves me to my soup, which takes FOREVER to heat up.
Kid Ritz: "Please! Can't you heat up faster?"
I plead with the microwave as Fred steps into the kitchen with a black stained glass.
Fred: "Hey, dude. I'm grabbing Rollie more water."
Kid Ritz: "Dude, you're like, top-tier nice. You know what's also nice? Soup. It's so nice. Yeah, I freaking love soup, dude."
Fred stops washing the glass as he turns to look at me.
Fred: "You good?"
Kid Ritz: "Dude, I'm freaking great! I'm getting soup! Roman's done being sick; he's getting a nice shower; I'm getting soup; it's all just freaking wonderful!"
*DING*
Kid Ritz: "Yes!"
I pump my fist, pulling the bowl from the microwave excitedly. I place it on the dining room table, already having my spoon with me prepared.
