Dom POV:
I watch as the bullet flies into the head of who I assume is the owner.
Screams ring out as I stare at his lifeless body lying over his hat. I blink and see the waitress asking me a question.
Waitress: "Sir? Would you like to hear tonight's special?"
Dom: "Oh... yeah... I... I would."
I don't listen to what she tells me; the image of the owner dying burned into my mind. What are the chances of him getting hit that way if he hadn't dropped his hat? Freaky...
I look at Mateo, seeing him appear to be spaced out. I reach over and take his hand, smiling softly as he looks at me.
Mateo: "Did you see?"
I nod, watching as the waitress walks away.
Mateo: "He didn't react."
Dom: "He didn't have time to."
Mateo: "What's it like? Doing that to someone?"
I blink, not entirely sure what he's asking me.
Dom: "To..."
I lean in, keeping my voice low even though no one else is dining in this room with us.
Dom: "Kill someone?"
Mateo nods, his purple eyes searching mine curiously.
Dom: "Well... I... get a rush from it. I can't think about anything other than... finishing out the job. I get almost like an itch within me. I can't scratch it... until I've finished the job."
Mateo nods, his eyes going back to the hole in the wall. I wonder why he wants to know.
Dom: "But, anyways, I wonder why we saw that vision?"
Mateo: "I don't know... but I'm glad I didn't see it alone. I feel better knowing you did."
I nod, pulling my hand away as our waitress brings our food out. I smile at the steak I ordered, noticing Mateo also has a dish with steak.
The rest of the dinner goes well, even though we just saw an enactment of a death. When we're done with food, I order a small cake, the waitress already knowing what I want. She brings the cake out, then closes the door, leaving us in silence beside the water noise of the fountains.
Mateo smiles at the cake, looking excited.
Dom: "Now, before we eat, I... have something I'd like to ask you."
I stand, kneeling before the table next to one of the fountains. The bullet hole in the wall makes my heart jump more than it already is, and I realize I'm leaning head level right where the bullet ran through the wall however many years ago.
I ignore that as I reach into my pocket and pull out the shiny black case holding the ring. Mateo stands, his hands clapping excitedly as he realizes what I'm doing.
Dom: "Mateo León Castañeda. I haven't known you for long, but in the time I have had the pleasure of knowing you... my life has changed dramatically. I met you at a party... and from the time of the party until now... I had no idea one Rageon could change my life for the better. I know what we've been through... what I've put you through has been intense, to say the least; it doesn't change the genuine fact that... I love you. I... I'd seriously do anything for you. I... would like to ask you to make me the happiest man alive, which I'm so lucky to be with you, and ask for your hand in marriage."
Mateo: "Yes! I will marry you!"
He claps before holding his hand to me, quiet as I slip on the ring. We watch the ring change from dark red to pale blue. I stand, kissing Mateo gently. We pull away, the both of us smiling excitedly.
