Domlos Wedding

Dom POV:

I brush my hands on the inside of my jacket, annoyed by the frost dampening the soft silk interior. I'm so nervous that I can't think straight, let alone control my emotions.

Orchid and Fred leave the room, leaving Kid Ritz with me. I look out the window and sigh as I see the clouds overhead.

Kid Ritz: "Hey..."

I turn my head and look at him, sighing as I see his expression.

Kid Ritz: "Dom? You... can talk to me."

I nod... knowing I need a friend right now.

Dom: "Is it wrong for me to say that... I'm scared?"

Kid Ritz: "Scared of..."

Dom: "...messing up. I... want this to be the right choice for Mateo and me. I... don't want to make another wrong choice. My parents... they aren't aren't here to see me marry the love of my life... because I made the decision to kill them. My older brother... he is not here to see me marry. My living brothers... aren't here. I'm... scared, Kid Ritz... of making another... wrong... move."

Kid Ritz looks into my eyes for a while, then nods. He walks up to me, looking up slightly due to the small height difference I have over him.

Kid Ritz: "I was terrified to marry Veneer. I wanted nothing but the absolute best for him. What helped me... to feel better was realize that... we both wanted marriage. He loved me, and I knew it. I loved him, and he knew it. We knew that we wanted each other so terribly... we would be able to help each other for the rest of our lives. We knew without even saying it that... we would always be there for each other, and marriage was the step to help us seal the deal."

Kid Ritz puts his hands on my shoulders, his thumbs rubbing gently.

Kid Ritz: "You have every right to be nervous. But... I don't think you should be worried about... making the wrong move. You love Mateo, right?"

I nod.

Kid Ritz: "And he"loves you. This marriage... it's the right decision for the both of you... and I know you guys understand that, or else we wouldn't be here today. You love him, and you're yyou're going to get to show him that. I can understand how off it feels to not have your parents or family present. My mother was able to be at my wedding, but my dad, Veneer's parents, they weren't there. What helped tremendously were our friends who were there. We care about you and Mateo, and we're going to do what we can to celebrate the unification of you two tonight."

We take a deep breath together, and I finally feel the nervous jitters from my aching heart lessen. 

Dom: "Thank you. That... really helped."

Kid Ritz gives me a small smile and hugs me.

Dom: "It... means so much to me that... you're going to walk me."

My voice comes out quiet, barely above a whisper. 

Dom: "I-It.." means... the world to me."

My voice shakes as I struggle to contain myself. It is a huge deal any of the Rageons who are here today... are. Especially Veneer and Kid Ritz. In so many ways, both of them have educated and helped me to be better. They owe nothing to me, and do not need to be here by any means on my behalf. 

They're here because that just the selfless Rageons they are. They're in place of my family who aren't selfless and kind.

Kid Ritz: "I'm going to support you however I can, Dom. You have not had things easy. While our relationship wasn't the best in the beginning, you've made the effort to change... and you've done the work to become reformed. That is worth supporting you afterwards. I'm... proud of you, Dom."
