Dom POV:

Dom: "You with the sad eyes

I meet Mateo's eyes, seeing tears have welled in his. I mean every word I sing, feeling my already bright eyes glow brighter.

Dom: "Show me a smile then
Don't be unhappy
Can't remember when
I last saw you laughing"

I look at Velvet and smile a little as she comes in with the harmony. Our voices mesh together in a way I absolutely love.

D&V: "This world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear

'Cause I will always be there"

I smile fully as we begin the chorus. It's incredible to hear the song come to fruition after so diligently working on it.

Dom: "And I see your true colors

And that's why I love you."

I look at Mateo, seeing the glitter running down his cheeks as he takes a shaky breath. I try my best to keep myself together so I can finish out the song strong. I close my eyes and sing with the most passion I have ever put into my music.

We continue the song, my voice thankfully holding steady as I refrain from crying. The guitar finishes, and our friends clap. I take a deep breath and rub my shaking hands on my pants. That was the most vulnerable performance of my life... and... I'm so happy I was able to pull it off for Mateo.

Dom: "Thank you. I have to give the utmost praise to Velvet for agreeing to help me with a song that, frankly, means the world to me."

I hug her, then join Mateo at the table. I wipe his tears and hug him, feeling very emotional myself as he shakes a little. 

Mateo: *t h a t  w a s  t h e  b e s t  s o n g  i ' v e  e v e r  h e a r d.*

Dom: *i ' m  g l a d  y o u  l i k e d  i t.*

Mateo: "I loved it, mi amado."

His raspy, light voice makes me smile as he rests his head along my chest for a hug. 

Dom: "Thank you, mi principe lindo."

The rest of the wedding is spent laughing, dancing, and having fun. Fred and Kid Ritz make their beeline for the food table and cake after Mateo and I cut the cake, the two cutting each other in line so they can be first.

As silly as it is, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. 

By the end of the night, I sneak off with Mateo to the gazebo.
