The questioning of Hank and Connor had gone well and it the side of the prosecution seemed more favourable, a short break had been called so you were currently sat on a bench holding a coffee that Samuels grandfather had purchased for you.
You knew it could be you called up next, part of you wished you'd never agreed to testify, yet the prosecutor was confident it would favour his side.
You weren't so sure anymore, you were worried the jury would feel bad for her that a Police Detective punched her. Then they would come to the conclusion that she was innocent. You couldn't afford to let that happen.
"I have permission to speak to you." A voice called out to you, snapping you away from your thoughts. You dragged your eyes up lazily until you realised it was Nines.
"You do?" You asked, unsure if he was being serious or just trying to test the limits.
"I do, see." Nines said as he nodded his head over to the prosecutor who was watching Nines' every move.
"Why'd he allow that?" You questioned as Nines' LED flashed yellow before returning to blue.
"We pestered him to let one of us come and speak to you, to make sure you were okay. He sent me under the instruction to not talk about the case." Nines explained to you as you shook your head lightly.
"You guys didn't have to do that." You sighed as Nines plopped himself down beside you, you followed him with your eyes.
"Well, I did not do too much. It was mostly Hank and RK800." Nines told you with a small shrug, you again glanced towards the prosecutor and saw Hank and Connor stood with him.
"So what do you wanna talk about?" You questioned Nines as you returned your attention to him.
"Well I do not need to ask if you are okay, because I know you are not." Nines mumbled as he looked towards you.
"That obvious?"
"Absolutely, I miss you." Nines said, his voice low so only you could possibly hear him.
"I miss you as well, I just want this to be over." You whispered to Nines who nodded his head in agreement.
"Me too, it will be soon." Nines attempted to reassure you. "I am being beckoned back, which means we will be going back in soon. You should probably drink some of your coffee before it goes cold."
With that Nines stood and left you behind, that was probably the most awkward conversation you had ever had with Nines and the shortest.
You tried to drink some of the coffee, after all Samuels grandfather had bought it for you when he didn't have to, when he reappeared you noticed many people making a move back to the courtroom.
You dumped the rest of the coffee and did the same.
Once court was full again the prosecutor stood again, "I'd like to call my next witness, Y/N L/N." He called out his eyes landing on you, you couldn't help but gulp.
Standing from the bench you moved towards the front and beelined to the stand, you avoided looking towards the side of the defence.
"Miss Y/N L/N, I'd like you to state why you are stood here today."
"I'm standing as a victim of the group associated with the defendant, who broke into my home and threatened my life." You answered confidently, you knew you had to stand your ground and just answer honestly.
"Were you threatened by the leader of the group at any point?"
"I was, the hearts of two of their other victims were left on my doorstep." You answered honestly, the memory of seeing the two hearts crossing through your mind.
