You and Nines had found somewhere to sit and now you were casually munching away at your plate of party food, part of you was scared that Hank would announce pass the parcel next. He was like that.
A few people had come over and actually spoken to Nines, some congratulating him on becoming a Deviant, others congratulating him on putting Gavin in his place.
Nines seemed pleasantly happy and he hadn't even glanced at Connor who was still festering in his own little space.
"Is the food nice?" Nines asked from beside you, you nodded as you bit into the next item on your plate.
You could see Hank making his way over to you and Nines, he set his drink down onto the table and let out a sigh.
"I need to pinch blue eyes." He declared as he grimaced at you.
"Take him, I'm more than happy here with my little party sandwiches." You told Hank as you gestured at Nines, who seemed unsure on whether he wanted to leave you.
"Do I have to?" Nines asked as Hank stared blankly at him. "I am going assume that is a yes."
With that Nines stood, gave you a small smile and let Hank guide him away.
You didn't mind Nines being taken away from you this evening, it was an evening about him anyway, not you. At the end of the night he was going home with you anyway.
You continued to eat your food, until the chair next to you was moved and someone sat down in it. Glancing up your eyes locked with Connor's mid bite of a sandwich.
You quickly chewed your mouthful before asking, "Can I help you?" You hadn't meant it in a rude way, but it sort of sounded like it was.
"Yeah, you can explain something to me." Connor stated as you brushed the crumbs from your fingers and onto your plate.
"Explain what?" You questioned, he hadn't moved at all so far and now he was sat right next to you, talking to you.
"Why you so suddenly changed your mind on him." Connor said as he narrowed his eyes at you, this was the last thing you wanted to discuss at Nines' party.
"Jesus Christ, I'm not talking to you about that." You told Connor who snorted before shaking his head in annoyance. "Don't be like that, it's his party. I'm more than happy to answer that question tomorrow."
"I don't even know why Hank threw him one." Connor spat, you were getting so sick of Connor's childish behaviour and wondered what Hank would think of how he's being.
"Because just like me, Hank has grown to like Nines." You retaliated as Connors face became very sour.
"Thanks for the reminder that he's stolen you and Hank from me." Connor scoffed as he folded his arms over his chest, he was being petty now and it pissed you off.
"He hasn't stolen anyone from you, me and Hank are still here. You're just jealous of him for no reason, we ended because of your constant jealousy over nothing. You still live with Hank, he still considers you his son. Is that not enough for you?" You questioned slamming your hand down onto the table, this seemed to startle Connor as he stared at you.
"Of course you wouldn't understand, you're just forgetting he was designed to replace me. Don't think that I don't see the way he looks at you." Connor snapped as you pushed a stressed hand through your hair.
There was no way Connor was seriously starting this shit now, coincidentally when Hank was nowhere to be seen, because if he was there Connor wouldn't be talking like this.
"Yes that's what he was designed for but he hasn't. He doesn't look at me like anything, you are literally talking like a crazy person." You cried throwing your arms in the air, you shouldn't have said that but you didn't care anymore.
