"Well he can be a really happy person." You told Nines, trying to ignore the fact that you knew Connor was staring at you both.
Nines seemed to notice that you had become rapidly uncomfortable, his eyes shifting towards Connor. He frowned for a second before blowing out an unneeded breath of air.
"RK800, now that I am a Deviant I would like to apologise for-"
"Replacing me? Stealing the woman I love? Stealing the man who I see as a father? Or just ruining my life?" Connor cut Nines off, his tone snappy and enraged.
"Connor!" You yelled as Nines stared at Connor, his face blank.
"What?" Connor questioned the pitch of his voice getting higher.
"You can't say-"
"Do not bother Y/N, it is not worth retaliating." Nines told you as you saw his stare harden, he was not happy.
"Now you're telling her what to do? Wow." Connor breathed out as he leant back in his chair, a look of victory in his eyes.
"No, just guiding her as I always have. I do not wish to apologise to you anymore as I can see that my rudeness was highly justified with your attitude." Nines commented as he relaxed in his chair, you never thought you'd see him do this at work.
You could see that Connor looked pissed in the corner of your eye. He was ready to swing for Nines.
"My attitude? It's funny you say that considering you've apparently only been a Deviant for like half an hour yet it's like you've had an attitude for much longer than that." Connor jabbed at Nines, you felt like you were stuck in the middle of the two, you had no idea what to say.
Nines stayed calm and collected as he raised an eyebrow at Connor.
"I have seen your attitude rear its ugly head multiple times, so I must have just learnt from the professional." Nines commented, you dropped your mouth open in shock, you wondered if this would render Connor speechless.
"I always knew you were asshole." Connor hissed out as he hardened his glare towards Nines, who was completely unfazed by it.
"Interesting." Nines mumbled as he leant back in his chair, keeping his gaze on Connor.
"Okay let's stop this before anyone says something they'll regret." You cut in as you tucked your chair in slightly.
"I'll never regret anything I say to my replacement." Connor spat as he narrowed his eyes at Nines who didn't react.
"Connor... just stop. Please." You requested as Connor shook his head and scoffed. You didn't appreciate his attitude at all, but part of you still felt bad.
He just found out that the Android that was meant to replace him has emotions, you always knew he'd react badly to it. But then he didn't have to be so rude to you, you just wished that you didn't feel sorry for him.
All three of you were now sat in silence, Nines kept his eyes firmly on Connor the entire time. He wasn't happy and he wanted Connor to know that if he looked up.
This was supposed to be a good thing, Nines could be who he wanted to be and be free. Yet you were anything but joyous. You kicked the side of Nines' leg making him glance at you, you mouthed for him to stop.
His eyes widened for a moment before then softening, he nodded his head and kept his eyes off of Connor. What made the whole situation worse was that you had nothing to do, at all. It just made the whole situation more and more awkward.
All of a sudden Connor abruptly stood from his chair and looked over at both you and Nines, you waited for him to say something but he just shook his head and walked away from the desk.
