Normal P.O.V

Ever since you'd approached the staff room, you knew it was going to escalate, it wouldn't have if Hank hadn't stopped you. Even though Nines was upset right now, you were glad Hank stopped you. Nines needed this.

You tried to clean his hand up the best that you could, Nines sat in silence the entire time.

You'd seen Nines angry plenty of times, but this one was different to others. It was like all the anger he'd kept in since you finding out he was a Deviant just came flooding out.

"Will this be okay for now?" You asked Nines who just nodded his head lightly, he'd stopped crying but you could tell it wouldn't take much to start him up again.

And you still had Fowler to face.

"Nines, you haven't even looked at it." You pointed out, he lowered his head to look at his hand and once again nodded his head. "Look I can't say I know how you're feeling right now because I've always had emotions but you can't go into Fowlers office in silence."

"I know." Nines mumbled in response as he stood up from the chair he was sat on.

You let out a sigh, you didn't know how to help him.

The room was still messy, the counter had Thirium all over it, you didn't have time to clear it up.

As if to prove that point even more, Nines beelined for the exit, you sprang up to chase after him. Following him you noticed everyone look at him as he headed for Fowlers office. Your eyes connected with Hanks as he grinned and put his thumbs up.

He was rather chirpy about this whole situation.

You stuck behind Nines as he entered Fowlers office after knocking.

"You wanted to see me, Captain." Nines spoke as you peered round him and saw Fowler eyeing him up.

"I suppose I should offer you a seat now you're a Deviant." Fowler sniffed as he gestured to a chair.

"There is no need for it. I do not need it." Nines said as you stepped around him, trying not to appear awkward.

"Well one of you needs to sit." Fowler grumbled as you nodded your head and took a seat, you felt like you didn't need to be here. "Thank you."

"Captain, I would firstly like to apologise for what happened out-"

"Let me stop you there, firstly Reed deserved it. Secondly this isn't about what happened it's about why it happened." Fowler cut Nines off, you sat there like a child whose parent was speaking to another adult.

"I am not sure what you mean..." Nines mumbled as Fowler fixed him with a glare. "I just got annoyed at him."

"Why?" Fowler pressed on as Nines suddenly became very fidgety, his LED blazing red.

"He was insulting my partner." Nines blew out, this whole exchange gave you second hand embarrassment.

"And that made you so angry you Deviated?" Fowler questioned as Nines nodded his head at him, yet he didn't look convinced at all. "Reed is a dick, but not enough for that."

"I am unsure of what-"

"Stop bullshitting me, RK900." Fowler commanded as you sunk down into your chair, you now feared being dragged into this.

"I am not, he was suggesting that I or RK800 sexually punished her after she hit an offender. It pissed me off." Nines spat, now you could feel your cheeks heating up rapidly.

"And why did that piss you off?" Fowler continued, you had no idea what was going on, but your mind drifted to what he had just said.

"Because it did." Nines sighed.
