Hi everyone. I'm RaveDoggTV, the writer of Into the Light. I have some special announcements to share with you all this Christmas season.
Before I get into them, how I came to name my story Into the Light was rather interesting: back when I first created the first rendition of the story in October of 2020, the name "Into the Light" came to mind, and I decided to use that name. I honestly had no idea that there was a song in Splatoon 2 with the same name, and the name stuck with me.
Anyway, with that little side talking point out of the way, let's get into it.
===WATER===
Everyone knows that in the Splatoon games, if you fall into the water, you're splatted and will be forced to a respawn point. And so, I've been using the same idea Sankichi Hinodeya had in the manga, where water outside Turf Wars doesn't splat anyone. I know it kinda breaks Nintendo's established lore that Inklings/Octolings can't swim in water, since they're entirely made of ink. Still, I feel that ditching this restriction would open up new opportunities to explore writing underwater scenes.
===WEAPONS===
Now obviously, every weapon that is available in the Splatoon games is still gonna be a mainstay in my story. But since I have quite a love for weapons, I want to expand upon the vast choices of weapons to be used. Let me explain.
Okay, so there will be two new classes of weapons that are used outside of Turf Wars. These are Plasma Shooters, as seen in some examples in these pictures.
