Just This Once
Please Don't Go - Joel Adams
You were staying the night with Jake at the apartment. He'd recently developed insomnia ever since he started living alone. You decided to stay the night to keep an eye on him. Jake was really acting strange probably due to the lack of sleep.
You changed into a nightshirt and some shorts. You went to go check on Jake who was upstairs, trying to sleep. You walk into the bedroom, seeing him pacing around the room. You sigh and run a hand through your messy hair.
"Jake-" You paused
You noticed that silent tears were rolling down his cheeks. He looked over to you, quickly wiping them away. His green eyes were quite dim at this point. You walked up to him slowly. He was almost child like in his current state. You cup his cheeks and use your thumbs to wipe away his tears.
"What's wrong Jake?" You ask softly
"Promise you won't laugh?" He says
"I promise!" You promise
"I hate sleeping alone.." He admits
"Aww Jake.." You say softly
You move a strand of his messy hair out of his face and kiss his forehead. He takes hold of your wrists, holding them tightly as he trembles.
"Please don't leave me here." He begs
"I won't Jake, I promise." You bring him into a gentle hug
Jake sniffles and wipes his nose on his arm, breaking down into tears. You let him out of the hug, but hold his hand. You walk him over to his bed and lay down with him. He wraps an arm around you and pulls you close. You wrap an arm around his neck and peck him on the lips.
"I love you Jake, okay? I promise I'm not gonna leave." You say
"I-I love you too [f/n]" He says
