You step out onto the terrace of your apartment, sipping some of your (drink), feeling the breeze. Feeling a pair of arms wrap around your waist and a chin resting on your shoulder you look over to a now fully grown Token. You smile happily at him and put a hand on his head, running it through his hair.

~Flashback~

"How DARE you! He's a black man! You're a white woman! It's wrong!"

"Race doesn't matter! He's a good guy! He's perfect for me!"

"Get out! GET OUT AND TAKE THAT FUCKING *BLEEEEP* WITH YOU!"

"This is 2017 these things don't matter! He's a human being just like you mother!"

"He is no such thing!"

"I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL!"

SLAM The door shuts just like that on the older fuming woman.

~Flashback~

"Hey." He says cooley

"Hey." You reply, giggling

You set the cup down and turn around in his embrace, pecking his nose. He was slightly taller then you which you didn't mind.

"Any word from your parents?" He asks

"Nope. Guess they really didn't want anything more to do with me." You shrug

"Oh don't say that (f/n). I'm sure they didn't mean it."

"Token, knowing my parents, they meant every word."

"Oh come on."

"Token they called you the n word."

"I know.."

You press your forehead against his and sigh, your cold breath hitting his face.

"I'm sorry."  He says softly

"Don't be. I should've realized sooner. It's theirs and my fault. No way around it."

He looks down at your saddened face and cups it. A long comfortable silence falls over the both of you.

"Let's go back inside, I found something cool." He finally says

You smile brightly and follow him back inside, after grabbing your (drink).
