Fingers
Humans are made for other humans. Save for those souls who were made for a pet or something. It's really sad that some of those relationships didn't work out. It was like a mistake was made during the process, resulting in a deformed piece of the puzzle.
Rain touches your window, battering against it. Your parents shouts and screams are occasionally drowned out with the booming thunder. Your tired eyes glance around the room, away from your Nintendo DS. You sit up and set the mobile device down. Putting your hand over where your heart was beating quietly before you shift to check your pulse. Yeah, you were still living alright.
You swing your legs over to edge of the bed, moving to stand. You pick your DS back up and walk across the room. You grab a large black backpack and toss it across the room. You reach into your desk and pull out a dusty wooden box. You blow on it, wiping the excess away before sneezing. Casually, you place it on your nightstand and reach into your shirt, pulling a key on a string out. You lean down and unlock it. Upon opening it, you're greeted with a large was of cash. You pick it up and flip through it.
"Hello old friend" You greet it quietly
You pocket it and pick up the box, shutting it and setting it beside the bag on your bed. You crack your knuckles before unzipping the back, going through a mental checklist of everything you had.
"Good." You whisper "The gang's all here"
You zip it back up and kneel down, reaching under the bed to pull out your coat. You pause, rolling up your sleeve so you can look at the arrow on your arm. It was on the move again and you were about to be too.
You sling the bag over your shoulder after putting the coat on and rolling down your sleeve. Picking up the box, you open up your DS, and leave it on your nightstand. You slide over and unlock the door, shouting down an 'I love you mom' before running over to the window, popping it open, and jumping out. You land awkwardly on the ground just as the loud thud of footsteps rush up to your room, throwing the door open. You stand out front as another figure jumps out the window. A bag on their back as well.
"Let's go mom." You suggest
You take her hand and lead her away from the house. You smile up at her as she pulls an umbrella from her bag and opens it, shielding you from the rain.

Here you stood, before the old abandoned apartment complex. Your mother had died not to long ago from some disease. You didn't know what it was and as much as it hurt, you couldn't afford to know.
You'd followed the arrow here. You had found yourself finally pursuing the person that you'd been made for. I mean, you were always weirded out by the whole soulmate thing, but it worried you down more to think what kind of person this was.
You gather yourself without a reason to before you enter the building to look around. Setting your bag down on the ground and opened it up, before going through it. You pull out a thin blanket and sit down, wrapping it around you. You look outside at the cold city that seemed to be bustling with people.
"Terminate it. He wouldn't want to come back to some mortal walking around." A voice suddenly booms
You look around, seeing a few figures creeping out from the darkness. You just turn back to your bag and stare at it.
"Make sure no one finds my body. Even in death I wanna stay off the radar." You explain
You glance back up at the figures, seeing they'd stopped. You sigh and once again look back at your bag, reaching into it you pull out a snickers bars. You take out 3 extras and toss them to the apparent 'attackers'.
"Here, you're not you when you're hungry." You joke
You listen to the shifting as you eat your snickers bar.
"Who are you?" One of them asks
"Just your average missing puzzle piece." You answer back vaguely
The men continue to approach you but this time, they sit down beside you. You can see them in the light now. Which makes you feel a bit better.
"I'm F/n" You bleakly introduce yourself "So, about the killing me thing-"
"You gonna take the stick outta your ass and beg for mercy?" One replies coldly
"Now listen here you fucking Vendetta rip off, I didn't ask for you and your squad to gang up on me." You hiss
The male whips out a rock and prepares to strike. You stop him by shoving his face away. You wince at the pain shooting up in your arm. You roll your sleeve up and looking at the arrow, it was spinning wildly. You flick it with a growl.
"God dammit what the fuck." You curse continuously
You feel them staring so you turn to the other men. Who definitely were staring at you, with their eyebrows raised in surprise. You noticed that one of them was shaking as he tried to hold back his giggles. The Vendetta rip off just sits up and pouts.
"Bitch." He mutters
The boy holding back his laughter finally let's it out. His speech is occasionally interrupted by an abrupt stop as one of his body parts jerks, occasionally cracking. He falls back on the cold concrete ground of the area, his laughter filling the room.
You just stare at the male, before glancing over at the one boy you hadn't talked to. Who happened to be sitting right next to you. You nudge him lightly earning his attention.
"Is he okay?" You ask
"Are any of us?" He replies
"True.. True.." You shrug in agreement
You scan the large empty lobby of the area. And you realize how bland this place was. The windows were covered with tarps so only the metal and glass double doors let light in. Someone cleared their throat and you turned to the male who'd just gone into a laughing fit.
"I a-asked yo-you a ques-tion." He stutters forcefully
"Well, ask it again." You snip
"Just let me fucking kill him/her."
"Shut up Vendetta." You hiss
"Call me Masky." He corrects
"I like Vendetta rip-off better." You insist
"Stop it Tim."
"Fuck you Toby."
"Stop-"
"Shut up Brian!" The two show in unison.
"At least I know what to call you now." You interrupt
You stand up and remove the blanket from your body, folding it before a packing it back snugly on your bag.
"Where do you think you're going?" Tim spits
"Well Timmy, I'm not really sure. I just kinda drift around." You reply with a shrug "I mean, I was waiting for you to kill me but waiting is really boring."
You begin to walk out the door when you're stopped by a rough grab and a knife to your throat. You sigh, shifting to take off your bag. You unzip it and pull your box out before you toss it to Toby.
"Here. Burn it. You probably don't need anything inside it." You explain casually
You close your eyes and hold the little box to your chest. The knife is removed as you sigh in annoyance.
"Stop fuCKING HESITATING YOU MASKED PIECE OF SHIT" You begin to shout, your voice bouncing off the walLA "I CAN DO IT FOR YOU IF YOU WANT!"
You grab the knife from him and press it to your throat. You're quickly stopped when Toby wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you against him, he forces you to lower your hand.
