She fidgited in her chair, occasionally reaching up to adjust her glasses. She wasn't very social, simply more awkward then almost anything she was. She rubbed the back of her neck, completely unaware that Canada was stealing glances at her. This went on all until the end of the meeting, when everyone gathered up their stuff and left. You and Canada just happened to be one if the last two to leave. Canada walked up to you, mustering up enough courage to talk to you.

"H-Hey [y/n]?" He asked

The girl jumped, yelping in surprise as she dropped her bag, allowing her favorite stuffed animal, which was a polar bear, to fall out onto the ground. She blushed, embarrassed that she was carrying such a childish little toy around. Canada smiled a her as she avoided eye contact.

"I-Its okay. I-I..I have one too." He spoke, his voice almost quieter then ever before

He knelt down as she looked back at him, awkwardly smiling as he picked it up and placed it back in the bag. He stood back up and handed it to her, she hugged him.

"Thanks Matthew.." She thanked

Mattie had never heard her speak before, and he'd eventually managed to convince himself that she was mute. He smiled softly, hugging her back as he closed his eyes. This was clearly the start of a beautiful friendship.
