Jac was in theatre for the rest of the shift. He was confused about what had happened and how Jac had reacted.
He picked up Emma and Theo from the crèche as had already been arranged and went home to wait for Jac
They weren't living together but spent most nights together at Fletch's,
Just after the smaller ones bedtimes he got a text from Jac
'Hi could you keep Emma tonight. Shattered just gonna go home to bed

At least there was a kiss but there was no way he was leaving it like this overnight.
"Evie I just need to pop out to see Jac could you keep and eye on the others. I've got my phone and you know Jac's right? "
" is everything alright?" asked Evie
"Not sure babe but I need to see her ok" he kissed his daughter on the top of her head and headed off to Jac's
He knocked loudly on the door until Jac eventually answered
"Can I come in?"
"Of course"
Fletch went in and closed the door
"Jac?"
Silence
"Jac - what the hell is going on and what was that this afternoon?"
"I don't know" said Jac quietly "I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what people are saying about us because I'm sure Freida will have wasted no time spreading the gossip. Did you hear anything this afternoon?"
" I can't say I did but why do you care what people say. Why did you kick me out of the office and then not want to see me after work?"
" because I'm a massive fuck up. I'm worried that it'll ruin everything if everyone knows"
"Are you ashamed of me?" Asked Fletch sadly
