Theo's temperature came down quite quickly lol w
and after a quick nap, he was as right as rain. He and Jac were just having a cuppa in the kitchen. He put his mug down and circled her waist.
"You know you were amazing back there" he kissed her lightly
" Oh come on Fletch, you knew what to do as well as I did. Probably better than I did after your years in the ED."
"Yes I knew what to do and it became clear quite quickly that it was a febrile seizure. It was more the way you dealt with Evie"
Jac shrugged "she needed to know what to do. Focus. Distract her from her panic, feel a bit more in control. I needed that when I was younger. Needed to know I could deal with anything without relying on anyone else. Look at me now" she smiled
"Oh you're still very much your own woman Ms Naylor it's just you have to share yourself with me now" Fletch pulled her in closer and kissed her deeply. "The things you do to me Naylor" he said
"We should probably go and see what the kids are up to and check on Theo. Mmmm. Really we should..mmm" Fletch had deployed his secret weapon of nuzzling her neck
Jac reluctantly pulled away "don't be an arse Fletcher " but she was laughing
The rest of the day was spent cooking, playing
games just general mundane family life. Jac and Fletch were keeping a closer eye on Theo who seemed to have recovered.
Jac was just finishing tidying the kitchen when Evie came in and wordlessly went over and put her arms round her
"Hey" said Jac with surprise "you ok hun?"
Evie seemed a bit embarrassed "I'm so pleased you were there today"
"You were brilliant Evie"
"I felt better being able to help. Dad would have just taken over"
"He's used to being the only adult around so I can see why he might do that"
"I know it's been hard for him. He's better since you've been around" Evie smiled
Evie went off to do homework, leaving Jac to marvel at how different her life was since letting Fletch in.
