Bruce's cousin finally arrives. We go to the main entrance to let her in as she doesn't have clearance to enter the building.
"How's it going boys?"
Walters bounds into the building cheerily. I quickly realize Walters is not at all what I'd been expecting when Thor told me Bruce's cousin was a lawyer. I had expected someone more well, dull.
"Hey Jen thanks for making this work."
"Pfft no problem, cuz! I love a good challenge!"
"This is Thor,"
Bruce gestures to Thor who gives her a small wave.
"No really?! I never would've guessed it's not like he's on the news every other week!"
Walters laughs. Bruce rolls his eyes at her sarcasm and continues.
"And this is Loki."
Bruce gestures towards me
"Thank you for coming Ms. Walters."
I employ my usual etiquette kissing her hand she looks flustered. Her cheeks go a bit red.
"Quite the charmer isn't he boys and girls?"

She proceeds to wink at no one in particular and I remember what Bruce said, eccentric indeed.

We are set up in a meeting room Walters has her laptop out and is currently looking at the remaining legislation to do with the Sokovia Accords.
"Alright let me see any documents you can get your hands on to do with this, er Jane Doe."
I had considered telling Walters Sam's full name but decided against it unless she says it will help. I know she has to share any information we tell her in court. I don't want that knowledge coming back to bite us if we end up needing to take this to court.
Bruce is in the process of getting documents from Fury and I go to collect the file from outside her room. The blinds I had insisted be installed so she could have some privacy despite the one way glass are open at the moment. I glance in to see they're watching some sort of talk show, it's a strange show, like many of the things Sam and Peter watch.
The men on screen have bowls of pasta in front of them and are throwing darts at a world map of Midgard. At least they're pre occupied. I grab the file and head back. Walters studies the papers in silence for nearly half an hour then something seems to click in her brain.
"I got it! The reason she's being held here is because she is a suspected member of a group outlawed by the Sokovia Accords, but the accords cannot be enforced upon anyone with citizenship from a country that didn't sign the accords."
I'm confused I'm almost positive Sam is from the United States and don't see how this will help us. Walters sees the confusion written on all three of our faces and realizes we're not following her train of thought. She turns to Thor.
"Did New Asgard ever sign the accords or agree to them in any capacity?"
He frowns undoubtedly wondering how that is at all relevant to our current predicament and shakes his head.
"No we had bigger things to worry about and the topic's never come up in talks with the UN, I don't understand how that helps us at all."
She smiles like she's the smartest one in the room. I'd find it amusing if I wasn't clueless myself.
"Well out with it Walters how does this help us?!"
She giggles at my frustration.
"It's simple we give her New Asgard citizenship. She wouldn't have to stay in New Asgard forever just until she can produce proof of citizenship for wherever she's actually from. She will have immunity to the accords because of her dual citizenship as well. Thor can do that right? Give her citizenship? I mean he is a king but I don't know how Asgardian law works."
Thor nods.
"I can do that."
Though I know it's probably not going to be very good news to hear that she has to move halfway across the world instead of going home I know this is a hundred times better than her ending up in M.R.D custody.
"This sounds like our best course of action, I'll talk to her about it I don't want to just make this decision for her."
Thor looks slightly surprised at this he's used to me doing what I want when I want but Sam is different. I couldn't just tell her she has to come to New Asgard with me, she's spent enough of her life being told what to do in abhorrent conditions. I'm not about to be the next person to oppress her. Walters chimes in cheerfully.
"Great when we get an answer I can help get any paperwork sorted, if you Norse gods do that sort of thing."
Thor laughs a bit.
"Indeed we do it's not quite as excessive as your realm's though."
"That's what I like to hear!"
Walters pumps her fist enthusiastically.
"I'll let you know what her decision is as soon as possible."
