—-Loki—-
Sam and I step out of the forest Sam begins her act. Her whimpers are far too convincing I hate this. I stay in character pushing her along hoping I'm not being too rough. She sees my face as she cries and dials it back a little.
I'm thankful for this but at the same time angry with myself. Sam was trying to sell it and here I am unable to follow the plan to the best of my abilities. Sentiment, it's going to be the death of me. I pull a veil over my emotions and get back into the role.
We are quickly noticed by the mutates they fly down on winged beasts Vertigo is with them. I'm going to have to try very hard to convince them. Sam told me to do whatever it takes to convince them nothing was off the table. She told me this knowing I'd be hesitant to do anything to her physically. I hate this but everything is riding on my ability to deceive them. Vertigo speaks up.
"Why have you come here? You will be killed for your treachery."
I act insulted.
"My treachery?!"
"You attacked us!"
"Because you were letting them get away!"
She looks angry but I have her attention and she's not attacking yet.
"If it weren't for your interference I could have brought them all to the master yesterday! Now all I have to show for my labor is this!"
I angrily throw Sam to the ground 'sorry Sam'.
"But you didn't know about the master yesterday."
I laugh.
"My dear, you think I just happened across the Savage Land? I came in hopes to join your master and was bringing the X-men to him."
"Then why did you pretend you didn't know anything?"
"I wanted to verify my sources didn't feed me false information."
Vertigo seems to consider it then seems to think of something. She glares at me accusingly.
"I saw you sleeping with her!"
I laugh again.
"Can you blame me?"
I lift Sam off the ground my hand at her neck I'm trying to be gentle but this needs to look real.
"This one is mine but I've come to offer her to your master seeing as she was the only one I was able to recapture."
'Im sorry Sam, so sorry.' I want to say it so badly I feel repulsed by the words coming out of my mouth. I must continue though because I can see they're starting to believe me. Vertigo seems to make up her mind. I let go of Sam and she crumples herself to the ground in tears. I know she's acting but it takes every fiber of my being to continue holding my cold expression and not sit down with her to comfort her.
"You're in luck she's one of the ones he wants the most. Though he would have been the most happy with the one they call Scott."
I keep a straight face but inside I'm panicking. 'What does she mean?' 'What do these people want with Sam?!' 'Am I putting Sam in even more danger than we originally thought?!'
"Then may I speak with him?"
"Yes we will bring you to him at once."
Sam refuses to walk the rest of the way forcing me to have to drag her into what I assume to be Sauron's throne room. 'Why does she have to lay it on so thick?!' I hate this so much I am never letting her talk me into doing something like this again! I'd rather do 'get help' twenty times over than ever do this again!
