Catching a Break

Sam and I make our way from the spare room now well rested. We quickly find the Avengers all seated in a meeting room of sorts. Tony smirks when he sees us walk in.

"You two have fun?"

Sam laughs at his crude implication. Pepper swats at him.

"Tony!"

"What?! They knew when they got engaged I wasn't gonna not give them crap about it."

I roll my eyes Tony is truly one of a kind.

"You're lucky I've grown fond of you I've stabbed people over less crude comments."

Thor nods knowing this better than anyone. He had quickly learned the limits of my patience when it came to teasing me about Sam when we first got together. Tony laughs slightly.

"Aww Lokes you mean you regret tossing me out a window?"

In all honesty I truly do regret that about as much as any of the other things I did. Against all odds I can say Stark is my friend. I smirk slightly.

"Marginally."

He laughs at this.

"Well come take a seat we're discussing what we're doing when we get there we have some scans from the planet now."

Sam and I find a seat. Sam smiles at Tony warmly as she sits down she enjoys seeing us getting along.

"You holdin up ok Samanthra?"

She giggles at the nickname and nods. I smile slightly at his concern for Sam, It's my understanding that while I was under due to the Pyro incident he helped Sam to deal with her anxiety. I'm extremely grateful for this. It's one of the instances that made me truly believe he was a friend. Steve comes back to the table then holding a device. The display on the device projects an image of a planet I assume it to be Vormir.

"Though it's conditions are habitable the planet seems to be abandoned there's virtually no sign of life there except for the odd blip, we did a scan for gamma radiation and the radiation is strongest in a mountain on its surface so we can assume the stone is there."

Tony looks surprised.

"Looks like we caught a break. Seems like overkill for everyone to go marching down there."

Steve nods.

"I was thinking the same thing, I propose sending a team of about four people down first if they end up needing backup then they can just contact us."

Tony replies with a shrug almost seeming board.

"I'll go."

Pepper looks at him a little exasperated at the fact she'll have to visit yet another alien world.

"Well if he's going then I guess so am I."

"What's wrong Pep? 'Fraid I'll make trouble?"

Pepper rolls her eyes smiling slightly.

"Something like that."

We talk for a bit more and decide that the group going will consist of Tony, Pepper, Clint, and Strange. I didn't really want to potentially put Sam in harms way yet again not for her sake but for mine, I know she could handle it but I'd prefer it if we sat this one out. With the issue settled we all seem a bit less anxious about the task ahead and relax a bit. I look to the clock to find we have less than two hours left until we reach the jump point.
