—-Loki—-

When we arrive in the hellicarrier everyone else is already there we're slightly late. Upon seeing us Tony laughs a little.

"Ahem um Reindeer Games you have a little something right there."

Stark gestures to my face. Sam looks at me and her cheeks flush red. My confusion must show she comes close to me and whispers.

"A bit of my lipstick is on your face."

I feel my own face redden as I rub it off. I can hear some chuckles from the room as I do this. I can't help it despite feeling I should be above feeling embarrassed by things like this I always am. Natasha smiles and teases.

"So that's why you two are so late."

My cheeks turn a deeper red as this gains a chuckle from nearly everyone. The worst part is it's not even untrue. Thankfully we're saved from further embarrassment as the director walks in the room to debrief us. The room falls silent and we quickly take a seat. Fury begins to explain what's going on.

"A woman who is clearly not human has begun an attack on New York the military has been able to hold her and her army at bay but they won't be able to hold it much longer. She's using magic that leaves a similar signature to Loki's."

The whole team turns and looks at me, most in suspicion.

"I- I didn't..."

'As if they'd believe a word you'll say.' 'It's no use to try and talk to them.' I stop trying to defend myself anything I say will only be perceived as a lie and that will undoubtedly make things worse so it's better to be silent. I'm a bit intimidated if they decided to, the group that was called in for this mission could lay me out fairly easily even with my magic. Sam takes my hand under the table sensing my obvious anxiety. Fury continues on drawing a bit of their attention.

"I have reasonable doubt that Loki is involved in this. According to my sources the target is likely Asgardian but hasn't been on Earth for the past five years. She doesn't match the profile of any of the Asgardians in S.H.I.E.L.D's database. It's also a fact that the only Asgardian magic signatures we have on file to compare her's to are Loki and Thor's and seeing as Loki is more advanced in magic usage it's only natural that it would more closely resemble his. Besides he has a reason to stay out of trouble now."

Most of those suspicious of me seem satisfied with Fury's explanation and return their full attention to him. I can't help but breathe a sigh of relief. I think about his last statement. 'Is that why people had suddenly stopped being so elusive around me?' 'Because they thought Sam would keep me from doing something rash?'

I guess it's partially true, I hadn't ever stopped finding myself in trouble during missions but I had thrown some of my more extreme ideas out because of her. Part of this can be attributed to my therapy but the majority of the time I held back because of Sam. She doesn't like an excess of unnecessary violence so I've adjusted my tactics to keep it to a minimum... well a minimum for me anyway. Rogers asks a question.

"Do we have any visuals on our target?"

"Yes."

Fury motions at the screen and an image of a woman appears, a woman I recognize.

Thor voices her name

Thor voices her name.

"Amora."

Fury lifts an eyebrow towards Thor.

"You know this woman?"

"Yes but she was banished from Asgard centuries ago."

As Thor explains who Amora is to the team my mind wanders back to what that wretched woman did. She had been obsessed over Thor. My brother was simply uninterested in her affections so she turned them onto me.

I had been lonely, desperate for companionship and she used that. She pretended to care for me and I foolishly believed her. She had been too perfect, putting on a show as an equally meek and bookish sorceress. She played the part until she was given special access into the palace by me.

The very night I gave it to her she used it to slip into Thor's bedroom. She basically sexually assaulted him using a complicated enchantment that made him do what she wanted. When what she did was revealed instead of getting the axe like any man would've for the crime she was banished.

It was deemed far too taboo a notion by the courts for Odin to sentence a woman to be executed and the Allfather heeded their advice. Before Amora left I visited her and she harshly revealed to me that all her affection towards me had been a lie. This cut me deeply then and lingered with me for some time. Now she's on Midgard. She likely doesn't know anything about the Avengers, Ragnarok, or New Asgard.

She came here looking for an easy win. Her very own realm to rule over. Well she's going to be disappointed this realm is my home now and I will defend it from that witch with the same vigor I defended Asgard. Thor finishes explaining to the team. Rogers looks to me.

"Loki, I want you to dictate this mission you know Amora best and have the best understanding of her abilities out of all of us."

I can see some members want to object but don't dare question the captain. I smile slightly in surprise. 'Rogers trusts me with this?' I nod and begin to formulate a plan.
