—-Sam—-
I wake up in pain it's blinding at first but I quickly suppress it using my years of practice with blocking out the sensation. When I see medical supplies in the room I'm in, I'm scared. I don't recognize where I am. Logically I know it doesn't make sense but I start panicking. What if the people who held me captive found me and took me back? I start hyperventilating. I find myself crying out.
"Lo- Loki?"
The door starts to open. I'm terrified, I expect it to be one of those wretched doctors from that place the ones who would rather just strap me down so I laid still during painful procedures rather than do the work required to measure out the right amount of pain medication or anesthesia.
The same doctors who at the same time seemed to like injecting me with I'm not even sure what and watching me spasm and cry in pain as a result. 'You need to run or fight or hide.' I try to sit up then whimper feeling an unbearably sharp pain in my side I start crying and crumple back down. I look over to the door now knowing I don't stand a chance against whatever they have in store for me and I'm filled with relief to see Loki standing in the doorway instead.
"Easy mortal, it's just me."
Loki comes over to the bed and sits down. I grab onto his arm tight.
"You're going to be alright. We were lucky, none of your internal organs suffered any irreversible damage."
I try to remember what happened wracking my brain... then I do. Logan. As mad as I am at him for not listening to me I still want to see him it's been so long.
"Is he still here?"
"Logan?"
I nod.
"Yes but you threw Mjölnir at him and Thor just got back from a mission I was just speaking with him actually."
"Can he go get him?"
Loki looks slightly confused he knows I know Logan but he doesn't know what our relationship is.
"Who is he?"
I smile who he is to me is a fairly complicated question he's my mentor, my teammate, my friend, and my guardian.
"An X-man... and kinda pretty much my dad though I haven't taken to addressing him like that. Him being that to me, it's somewhat unspoken but mutual."
"Oh."
This seems to adequately explain some of the questions that were likely running through Loki's head.
"I'll go ask him to get him."
"Tell him to be careful Logan's dangerous and he doesn't understand what's going on. He tends to stab first and ask questions later."
"Clearly."
I laugh then immediately wince at the pain in my abdomen.
"He's stubborn and kind of an asshole but he's actually really sweet when push comes to shove."
Loki nods. I don't know if he believes me but he should I could say the same things about him. He walks out of the room and I hear him discussing it with Thor. From what I hear Thor wants to test Logan's true intentions by asking him questions that's fair.

Logan walks through the door being led by Thor. He glares at Loki who's sitting next to me.
"Can you guys give us a minute?"
Loki gives me a kiss before leaving. I hear Logan growl beneath his breath. When we're left alone. Logan speaks.
"What happened to you kid?"
I look down at the ground I don't want to recall the events of the past five years.
"Kid?"
"A lot."
"Come on darlin' talk to me he's not here."
"Loki's not the problem Logan."
Logan seems to finally be willing to actually listen.
"Then tell me what happened."
I sigh I begin recounting the events of the past five years leaving out some details that would send Logan on a rampage if he knew what had been done to me.
"...Loki's not the problem, he's the reason I'm alive right now."
Logan looks deeply troubled.
"So you were kidnapped all this time?"
"Yeah besides the last six months."
He turns away from me and I can tell he's crying. He's the toughest person I know and he's crying.
"Logan it's ok. I'm safe now."
He's quiet for a moment then he turns back towards me.
"This is my fault!"
"No Lo-"
"I didn't look hard enough!"
"Logan-"
"Your trail went cold and after a year we gave up! We thought you were dead but you were alive being held captive by those mother fuckers for FIVE years!"
"It's NOT your fucking fault damnit!"
He stops I never used to swear. Not in front of him.
"It's not your fault Logan."
He seems defeated he comes and sits by my bedside.
"Why didn't you come home?"
He sounds hurt.
"It just... it felt safe in New Asgard, I guess I could have come home but I had a chance at immunity from ever being put in chains again for something as simple as existing."
Logan thinks over my words then nods. I hope my actions make sense to him. I had wanted to come home desperately but I'm on S.H.I.E.L.D's radar and would have been arrested within the hour had I returned to the States without proof of citizenship, breaking the agreement that constituted my release. Logan looks at the wound I took from Loki.
"I'm sorry kid."
I smile.
"I've survived worse remember the Nasty Boys?"
He laughs they were probably the most ridiculous group of villains I had gotten a life threatening injury from.
"Yeah I remember."
It feels so good to just talk with him again. I think I missed him the most. He was the one I called out for when I'd been subjected to the horrific will of my captors.
"God I missed you!"
I take his hand. Logan smiles.
"I missed you too kid."
"Can you just promise me one thing?"
"What?"
"Just please don't try to kill Loki."
Logan sighs reluctantly.
"...fine. But if he ever hurts you all bets are off."
I nod. Loki almost timidly comes in then.
"Hey Lo'. Don't worry I made Logan promise not to try turning you into a kabob again."
He lifts an eyebrow in amusement at me but still looks worried.
"Come sit."
He sits on the opposite side of the bed from Logan and now with the two men in my life I trust the most watching over me I fall asleep feeling safe.
