—-Loki—-

I wake up and my nose is filled with the smell of smoke. It's early, before sunrise I shake Sam awake.

"Sam. Somethings wrong."

She wakes up shooting up when she smells the smoke.

"What the hell?"

"I don't know."

Thor is suddenly in the doorway. He's sweating his armor has been singed he's carrying Stormbreaker chard soot covers the blade.

"We need to move."

I quickly use a spell to get dressed in armor. Thor has obviously been in some sort of fight. Sam follows my lead changing into armor from a quick glance I can tell it's one of the suits I'd preset into the thing (a feminine version of Thor's armor) she's just changed the colors of it with the spell it's now gold black and green. I can't help but smile at this before turning to my brother in worry.

"What's happened?"

"I don't know who they are, they brought these creatures they're made of fire they're on their way, and these people showed up in the middle of town started killing our people... they called themselves the children of Thanos."

I stop dead in my tracks. My knees nearly buckling from the fear. 'Had he finally found me?' Sam is at my side in an instant helping me stand.

"What do they want?"

She already sounds enraged. Thor looks at me clearly scared.

"They said they were here looking for the Jotun."

Sam stands protectively beside me. I start to shake I can't help it these people they know I'm here they're going to bring me back to that place. The words of The Other start replaying in my head.

::::::::::::
'If the Tesseract is kept from us, there will be no realm, no barren moon, no crevice where he can't find you. You think you know pain? He will make you long for something as sweet as pain.'
::::::::::::::

My shaking becomes more violent I sit down on the bed. Sam sits with me she's talking to me trying to tell me everything will be ok. I can't hear her the fear has taken over. She doesn't know these people, they won't stop until I'm dead or back in their possession. My brother's voice cuts through my thoughts.

"I'm sorry we have to leave this place the fire beasts are coming."

Thor holds his hand out to help me up I take it and force myself to get up. I need to fight. I'm filled with terror but another emotion is accompanying it, rage. They had dared attack my home, had dared attack my people. I look at Sam, I need to protect her. Still shaking with fear I begin to formulate a plan as we make our way to the guesthouse to warn Sam's family of what's going on.

—————————————————————

We make our way to the center of town fighting off the fire beasts as we make our way there. I am to be used as bait to draw out the Black Order then the X-men will attack its not exactly my Magnum Opus of plans but it should work the Black Order doesn't know the X-men are here or how formidable they are they will be taken by surprise.

Suddenly we find ourselves surrounded by the beasts, the temperature is crawling up as they draw closer. Sam is nearly overwhelmed trying to fight them off her friends are also busy fighting them. I'm pushed to the ground by one of them. The pain is blinding. It's about to lunge at me when Sam jumps in front of it she's burned pretty badly in her left arm.

She screams at the thing staring it down as it prepares for another attack. She doesn't back down she stands in front of me protecting me. All I can do is watch, the pain dulling any sense I have. Suddenly ice covers the creature and the blonde haired boy who introduced his boyfriend to Sam yesterday appears. The boy quips.

"It looked like things were getting a little heated over here."

Sam smiles at him then helps me off the ground. She takes my burns without asking I would have objected but it's pointless to argue now. We continue heading to the center of town. Some houses are destroyed. Seeing the destruction of some of what little we have left fills me with rage. Those were my people's families living in those houses! How many are dead? What more has been taken from them?!

My intense rage is quickly overcome by heart stopping fear when I see the Maw hovering above a group of Asgardians. He had been my torturer. He had been the only person I'd seen for months at a time both the only one keeping me alive and the source of all my pain. The memories flood back. It takes all of my willpower to step away from the group. I need to be alone when the Black Order sees me in order for the plan to work.
