When we get back Thor's excited but I feel empty. I sit down on the porch I put the hammer down. The tears start coming. I hate that I had to wrench myself away from my family so soon after seeing them again. Thor's overexcited and doesn't notice right away.

"This is great! I can show you- hey what's wrong?"

I just start crying harder.

"Oh..."

Thor seems to realize that I had just torn myself away from my family. He wasn't being insensitive before he just was genuinely excited about me wielding Mjölnir and forgot. He sits down with me and puts an arm around me.

"I'm sorry."

I lean on him.

"I'll be ok."

I cry for a while. Eventually my sadness gives way to curiosity and excitement. I take Mjölnir In my hands.

"How is this possible?"

"You're worthy."

Thor shrugs as if it's just that simple.

"I... I don't feel worthy."

I feel weak I carry so much baggage, seen too much shit, I could never be worthy of lifting the legendary hammer but here I am holding it in my hands.

"No one does."

"Even you?"

He nods. I hold the hammer to him to take it and put it away. He shakes his head.

"You can wield it you can keep it."

I look at him in shock. This was his beloved weapon and he was just gonna give it to me?!

"What?"

"I've been waiting for someone worthy enough to lift it to come along so I could pass it along for some time now."

"Me?!"

He laughs.

"You're holding it aren't you?"

"I... I guess."

A smile appears on my face.

"Loki's gonna loose his shit!"

He laughs.

"I haven't even told you the best part yet. If you wield this on a regular basis you will likely live as long as an Asgardian."

"What?!"

Thor throws up his hands

"Ask Loki I don't know anything about magic! That's just what one of his books said."

I'm in utter disbelief. Just then a glowing orange circle appears in front of us. I'm still holding Mjölnir as Loki steps out of it. Stephen Strange pears through the portal and spots me holding Mjölnir. He lifts his eyebrow in surprise and curiosity then closes the portal.

"That was probably the maddest thing I've ever done!"

Loki hasn't noticed yet. He's far too preoccupied with being annoyed by his mission.

"Oh?"

Thor plays along waiting for him to notice me holding the hammer.

"Strange wasn't being one hundred percent truthful, we were off world but not in outer space. We traveled through the multiverse it was madness! I had to fight an inferior version of myself from an alternate timeline that's incompetence threatened to destroy our reality as well as their own, they somehow ended up with a time machine and you can imagine how much of a mess they made... with... that..."

He becomes distracted from his story as he speaks and his eyes focus on my disheveled appearance and he completely stops in his tracks as they finally land on Mjölnir in my hands. He looks baffled.

"Alright, what the Hel happened?"
