Loki's passed out now. I guess Thor moving him was too much stress or something. The other Avengers quickly catch up with us. They're all understandably confused. Clint walks beside Peter and I.

"Ok two questions A why does he need to be somewhere cold? And two whatever the reason, isn't it already cold enough out here?"

It is fairly cold outside being it's December in New York but it's still above freezing and I assume the plan is to get into the freezer portion of a walk in cooler. From listening to Mary talk about her job at Joe's I know the temperature in a restaurant's freezer would be between -10 degrees and 0 degrees hopefully that's cold enough to help him. Thor covers for his brother without hesitation.

"Some Asgardians are very sensitive to heat, I don't think it's cold enough out here to cool him down."

Clint nods as far as he knows this could be the truth. Kurt suddenly teleports next to us something I guess even Peter's spider sense can't pick up on. He jumps slightly. Kurt looks worried about me.

"K- Kurt you need to go... the M.R.D'll probably be here soon."

"I can't just leave you like this with Loki hurt and you in a panic."

I shake as I speak.

"Please Kurt... I'd feel better knowing you're all safe."

Kurt looks like he wants to argue but reluctantly nods. He hugs me gently.

"I'll come visit you in Tønsberg soon."

I nod thankful they're going to get out of harms way. Thor is speaking with Steve as we walk he tells him to have Valkyrie bring him Stormbreaker as soon as possible Thor plans on calling the hospital in Tønsberg and having them somehow set up a room as cold as the freezer.

'This can't be happening, Loki's too strong for this.' I'd seen him as somewhat invulnerable... well at least invulnerable physically before today. I mean yeah Logan almost killed him but I took that so he was fine. I just thought that he couldn't really be hurt easily and anything that could hurt him I'd be able to take but now... I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't pull through.

The restaurant employees are pretty confused about a parade of Avengers suddenly entering their establishment but Thor doesn't really care about their questions. He ignores them as he makes his way to the back and into the walk in cooler's freezer.

Steve is left to explain what's going on using the same story Thor told Clint. Peter and I are right behind Thor. Along with my shaking I'm now also shivering the freezer is small but I refuse to be away from Loki. Thor gently sets Loki down then calls the hospital in Tønsberg and explains the situation the best he can.

I know I shouldn't be in the freezer for as long as I sit there for but I can't leave him. Peter stays and comforts me leaving every so often to warm up he somehow produces a blanket for me after coming back from one of his reprieves from the cold. All the while I just sit there for what must be more than an hour holding Loki's unconscious body and praying that he'll pull through, that he'll open his eyes and come back to me. Eventually Valkyrie shows up with Stormbreaker, she looks sadly at Loki.

"You should get him home."

Thor nods he picks Loki up and we go outside to take the bifrost home. I've calmed down from the initial shock and can walk ok now. There are news crews here. They have lots of questions but none of us are in the mood to talk. Thor transports himself, Loki, Peter, and me back to Tønsberg just outside of the hospital there.

As I watch Loki being hulled away by the medical staff there I start to hope they know what to do. They're Asgardian doctors not Jotun doctors they will probably have a lot of trouble treating him with his biology. Thor stops me from going into Loki's room.

"You need to get warmed up."

I look past him to the room. 'I can't just leave him, I can't.' I feel tears spring from my eyes which I know won't help my argument. If Thor wasn't going to let me in before he's for sure not going to let me go in there with a higher risk of frostbite from the moisture on my face.

"I-I can't leave him..."

He puts a hand on my shoulder his expression softening.

"Please, he wouldn't want you to freeze yourself."

He's right of course and I am bitterly cold. I reluctantly nod. I wander down the hall and find some warm fleece blankets in one of the waiting areas. Thor had presumably requested blankets be put in here because of this situation. I wrap myself up in one finding relief from the soft cocoon I've made for myself.

Peter joins me soon after, sitting down next to me and wrapping himself up in a blanket from the pile. I'm glad he's here I need him here. Peter offers me some information that brings me a little bit of peace.

"The doctors said he should be ok if he rests in the cold for a while."

I breathe a sigh of relief, I'm worried they may not know what they're talking about but maybe Asgardians know a lot about Jotun biology. Now knowing Loki will likely eventually come back to me and feeling safe enough because of Peter being here even though I'm in a hospital, I let myself fall asleep in my chair exhausted from the day.
