A Tale of Mischief and Mutants

"Advanced" Invaders

I'm feeling really amazing today I don't think things could be going better for me than they are right now. I'm free, I'm engaged, and I can visit my family as I please. Not to mention last night. It felt so different from any of the other times... I felt things, sensations, I'd never felt before. I can't help but want even more despite the part of me that's terrified of that. I feel like once we started I would be fine (or more accurately in ecstasy) but crossing that line is just so intimidating.

After we're married. That's when I'll take the leap. That's tradition anyway after all. I'll just give myself till then to get used to the idea. Currently I'm kicking ass. I don't understand how these guys thought they were prepared to take on Earth. They go down easily and Loki and I are both kinda having a blast as we fight. They're just enough of a challenge to be fun.

We both toy with the invaders letting them think they've got us backed into a dead end alleyway. There aren't very many left on the streets now so we have some time to screw around. We're back to back and Loki whispers to me smiling mischievously.

"Ha watch this."

He creates a duplication cast of himself and this confuses the invaders to the point that they've all stopped to look back and forth between the two one takes their weapon and tries to poke it. When it goes right through instead of realizing it's a trick and attacking they all start doing that and speak to one another in their language sounding incredibly confused. I laugh.

"They're really not that smart. I actually kinda feel bad for them."

Loki nods.

"Fighting them seems like overkill should we just try to trap them somewhere for S.H.I.E.L.D to pick up maybe?"

I giggle and nod.

"Hey guys! Follow me!!"

They look at me in confusion as I lift my hands up non threateningly. Some of them point their guns at me before realizing my non threatening stance. I glance at a building across the way a movie theater recently abandoned due to the evacuation order put out by S.H.I.E.L.D. We could block them off in there Gremlins style for S.H.I.E.L.D to clean up later.

"Do you guys like movies?"

One of the aliens tilts their head trying to figure out what I'm doing or trying to tell them. I begin walking in that direction and they don't attack they're too confused and curious about what the fuck I'm up to. Loki laughs at this. Wow were these guys dumb. I basically usher them into the theater Loki somehow figures out how to start the movie and they're hooked. We block off the doors with heavy objects. When we're done we both just burst out laughing at the ridiculousness of what just happened. I'm in tears.

"What the fuck just happened?!"

"You just outsmarted an advanced space fairing alien race."

"Oh yeah they seemed real advanced."

We laugh for a while eventually I get my laughter under control enough to call it in but when I start repeating the story to Ned who's working communications today. I burst out in laughter in the middle of it and Loki has to take over. We eventually get back to the team. Peter suggests we go to Delmar's Deli-Grocery to celebrate our victory and though we'd usually get shawarma everyone agrees unopposed to trying something new.
