I can feel myself starting to shake as we land on the rooftop. Magneto sees this and actually looks concerned about it.

"I'm not going to hurt you child."

This does little to console me Loki's down there with Pyro. I know Pyro to be easily set off and he could possibly kill Loki if he's given any reason to loose his temper. Magneto goes on.

"The last time I saw you I wondered where you had been all these years and now I've done some research..."

He walks up to me putting a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm truly sorry."

I'm reminded of what Xavier said about the man Magneto used to be. He's not all evil, yes he uses violence to accomplish his goals and he believes mutants and humans can never live in peace but he's also kind to the mutants he takes under his wing. He's wrong and must be stopped but not completely heartless.

"You must now see after suffering at the hands of humans for years that Xavier's dream is impossible. I'd like to offer you a place with the Brotherhood... if you'd like it."

Magneto is partially on to something, many of the men who had abused me over the years chose me specifically because of me being a mutant. I remember the man from the hallway carving the word mutie into my inner thigh with a pocket knife during the first week I had been there. I still have the scars. That awful word had pretty much become my name during my time there.

But Magneto is wrong we can co exist. I remember Scott Lang at the Halloween party, the letter from the staff at S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters, and Ned Leeds not batting an eye at me being a mutant when I met him. Magneto is fundamentally wrong you can't lump them all together with people like the ones who kept me captive. I keep a respectful tone knowing it will likely result in the best outcome for me my voice still shakes with anxiety as I speak.

"I'm sorry I don't, I have to decline."

He looks saddened by my decision but if there's one redeeming quality about Magneto it's that he doesn't lie he tells it like it is I had heard him out and I know he'll hold up his end of the deal. He nods.

"Please think about it. The offer is always there if you change your mind."

I nod he levitates then lifts the slab of metal beneath me again and guides us gently to the ground. He releases Loki's bonds and calls off the members of the Brotherhood guarding him. I run over to him he's unharmed but seething in anger as he picks himself off the ground. I take his hands stopping him before he does something stupid.

"Hey it's ok, I'm safe, he didn't hurt me."

He's looking past me glaring murderously at Magneto. I put my hand on his cheek guiding his gaze back to me.

"He just wanted to talk, I'm ok."

I whisper not wanting to embarrass him in front of the others further than he's already feeling for being taken down so easily.

"Don't do anything stupid Lo'. I don't want you to get hurt."

He nods reluctantly relenting. The group looks around unsure of what is happening now, Magneto still wants to stop this meeting and will put innocent lives in danger to do it. This team of Avengers isn't strong enough to fight him and his Brotherhood on our own even with the Hulk and Scarlet Witch. Magneto looks at us a little smugly he knows he's got us beaten.

"Please if you'd kindly be on your way I'll let you leave in peace today."

Steve shakes his head moving directly in front of the door.

"Not gonna happen."

Magneto raises an eyebrow at him in disbelief not understanding that Cap is a man that won't be moved. He hurls a piece of metal at him Cap steps on a random piece of wooden rubble making it pop up into the air he grabs it and shields himself with it. Magneto tries this several more times. Cap just glares at him with an expression of determination, a look that simply translates to 'I can do this all day.'

I see Nat looks antsy to start fighting so I put a shield up to protect the people from the cars so they can run without fearing he'll send it down on top of them if they try

I see Nat looks antsy to start fighting so I put a shield up to protect the people from the cars so they can run without fearing he'll send it down on top of them if they try. We fight the best we can but we're loosing. We're barely managing to fight without taking losses, I'm relieved when I spot the Blackbird landing on top of one of the buildings nearby.
