A Tale of Mischief and Mutants

To Xandar

As we all file onto the ship Tony looks at me still stunned from my outburst. He looks around at everyone as he speaks.

"Are we all going to ignore everything that just went down?!"

I glare at him not wanting him to draw attention to what had caused my outburst in the first place and cause Loki any further embarrassment. I don't know what the history was exactly but Thor had told me about what happened on Sakaar. I can only assume he didn't pick up on what was going on between the Grandmaster and Loki. Thor's not the best at picking up on things like that. Tony recoils at my glare.

"Alright I guess we are."

I smile slightly at his willingness to drop the topic. We travel for a long time we eventually have to get rest on the ship. Loki and I get some rest in a bedroom of sorts on the ship. I can tell he's worried about something as we try to settle in.

There's lots of things that could be but I think I know specifically what's wrong. He's afraid of facing Thanos' daughter. Loki told me how she had been there while her father tortured him and did nothing to help him. She had simply watched. A wave of anger crashes over me I'm not sure what I'm going to do when we find her. Nothing nice.

"Lo' she can't hurt you. I'll be there when we find her."

He nods silently I know he finds it difficult to admit he's afraid and even more difficult to admit he trusts anyone to protect him but himself. I smile at him slightly.

"If you ask me though, I don't think you'll need my help."

He smiles slightly too then pulls me close as we drift to sleep.

It takes about a day to get to the first of these things called jump points. From what I can tell they're sort of like wormholes and take us across vast distances very quickly. Once we hit the first one it isn't long before we're at our destination. We will need to go in strong and get out fast. We're going to try and cause as little harm and damage as possible when we take the stone.

These people are the good guys and have been protecting the stone. We can't exactly just ask for it though. We land on Xandar just outside of where we know the Power Stone is being held by the Nova Corps. Steve goes over our plan one more time before we all get out and face an army of people we don't want to start a war with.
