—-Loki—-

I've been searching for a ring for over a month now. Sam has caught on that I'm up to something she hasn't figured out what I'm doing yet or if she has she's playing along. I'm in a jewelry store talking to a salesman none of these jewels seem right at least not for Sam.

I've been told that in Midgard it's become quite common for men to wear engagement rings as well. Choosing one for myself was fairly easy but choosing one for Sam presents a challenge. I've already decided on a gold band for her's but I have no clue what to do for the stone.

The man makes suggestion after suggestion showing me picture after picture of jewels he could have imported none of them are right or if they are I haven't got the sense to see it. I was immediately captivated by emeralds though they are one of the relatively cheaper stones. But for Sam I just don't know. I can tell the salesman is starting to get just as frustrated as myself.

"Think has she ever admired a certain piece of jewelry or expressed interest in any particular cut of diamond?"

I'm getting slightly annoyed I'm trying not to because this man has spent hours helping me.

"I already told you a diamond just isn't right."

"You sure? Because most women I know would be more than happy with one. It's always the safest option and you told me price was no object."

My tone shifts in slight warning with my next words letting my frustration show.

"Sam, is not most women."

He quickly backpedals realizing his offense.

"No I'm sorry of course not."

I sigh.

"I'm beginning to believe there is no stone of this realm that suits her."

The salesman goes on something about there being a right ring for everyone but I am no longer listening. I have a sudden realization now, the stone I seek has been with me this whole time! Well with me in the sense that I could always call upon it if need be.

"That's it! The jewel I seek is not of Midgard but of Asgard!"

"I'm sorry?"

"Jeweler, if I brought you a jewel could you use the band I've already chosen to create a ring?"

He hesitates probably thinking he's just lost a sale. I can fix that.

"I'll pay whatever you ask."

He nods

"Yes Sir."

"Very good I'll have to separate it from the spell that binds it to the rest but I'll be back as soon as possible."

I know he probably has no idea what I'm talking about but I'm already paying him enough not to really care.

"Stop back with it anytime."

I nod and make my way out of the store.
