A Tale of Mischief and Mutants

Stubborn

The battle's wrapped up I make my way over to Sam she's with Loki ...and now they're kissing, great. I stand and awkwardly wait for them to be done. Finally it stops.

"As were you."

"You damn near had me fooled too Bub."

I say walking up to the two. He smiles and shrugs.

"god of Lies remember?"

I nod. If I hadn't just seen him save Sam and several other members of the team during the battle I would be questioning what he told me that first time we talked because of this comment. He did good, he might be ok. Not gonna have him over for cigars or anything but maybe Sam didn't make such a bad choice after all.

These people being after him in the first place only confirms what he told me. I look at Sam and smile slightly to myself at how happy she is. Sam's even safer than I thought she was here. I can go home later today knowing she's not hooked up with a complete psychopath.

I spot the burns on Sam contrasted with Loki's untouched skin. I sigh she's fallen head over heals for this guy. If I know Sam she probably doesn't even ask she just takes them.

"Those are some nasty burns."

Sam shrugs. I know they have to hurt like hell.

"I want you to go to the E.R."

I put it bluntly because she's stubborn and won't go if I beat around the bush. She never has liked hospitals and it's only worse now with the memories she has associated with them. She looks slightly anxious and at the same time annoyed but sees I'm serious. She sighs.

"Ok I'll go."

She continues to stand there like nothing's wrong.

"Now Sam."

"Logan I'm fine."

"No you're stubborn."

Loki chimes in.

"I concur."

Sam acts shocked.

"Did you two just agree?"

I chuckle I understand she's hesitant to go but I still find it funny how she's trying to change the subject.

"Get your ass to the hospital Sam."

She laughs her anxiety lessening slightly.

"Ok ok."

I watch her and Loki take off towards the direction of the hospital. I'm glad he sees through her bullshit. She needs someone who can do that around.
