—-Loki—-
I wake up before Sam does she's sleeping leaning on me in the seat. I don't want to wake her up so I remain still and stare out of the window there's nothing but ocean as far as the eye can see. Sam's phone which is sitting on the seat next to her buzzes undoubtedly another text from Peter. I smile to myself thinking of her giggling at whatever foolishness they get up to. She's always acted so timid and submissive never letting herself fully feel safe within the confines of S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters.
To see her break out of that and carry herself without fear is wonderful. I'm glad to see this side of her, her mischievousness and sarcasm is glorious. It was always there but shrouded by her fear, today it's on full display. She isn't afraid to push my buttons either which while slightly irritating, I'm glad for because it means she's completely comfortable with me. She stirs, and pulls away from me stretching and yawning.
"Are we there yet?"
"Not quite."
"So when we get there what is the plan exactly?"
"Well as we talked about you're going to be staying with me."
I had a place to stay both in New Asgard and in New York I preferred the former but sometimes it was just easier for me to stay near the compound.
"When we get there, there may be some people who want to meet you."
Though she tries to hide it from me I can see the thought of meeting people gives her anxiety. I'm confident that in time she'll warm up to Valkyrie, Korg, and Miek, who, with the exception of Peter, are all about the closest thing to friends I'd had before all of this happened.
"You'll be alright?"
She nods. 'Great now she's quiet meaning she's anxious.' 'I should have kept my mouth shut'. She pulls a book from my carry on and starts reading through it. I do the same but find myself unable to focus, my fears from last night start lurking in the back of my mind.
I push them back I can't deal with them right now. I elect instead to test Sam on some of the magic I've taught her, nothing very complicated just some simple illusions and summoning spells. She did extremely well when I first taught her and she's been practicing ever since.
"Random question, you wouldn't happen to have a dagger on you would you?"
She looks at me playfully and shakes her head. I know she knows I'm asking to see how far she's coming along with her magic.
"Loki we're on a plane."
That's right, I had forgotten about how taboo having weapons on an airplane was in Midgard. She instead summons a chocolate bar. I raise my eyebrow at her she has only a limited amount of space she can store things in, in a pocket dimension and she chooses to store chocolate? Only Sam. She leans back in the seat, opens the chocolate bar, and begins eating it.
"You should teach me how to do the clothes changing thingy."
"That's a pretty advanced spell."
"Come on, how hard can it be? Thor does it!"
I laugh at her jab at my brother.
"Thor has an object bound to the spell. The way you would do it would require you to either get an object with magical properties to bind the spell to or memorize a very complex and very long incantation then recite it in your head every time."
"Dang it, so it wouldn't exactly make life easier then."
"No, not unless you have been memorizing it for hundreds of years to simply make it as easy as reciting the alphabet."
We continue talking for a while. Then the pilot speaks over the intercom.
"We will be landing in the Skien airport shortly please prepare for landing."
