—-Sam—-
I wake up from my nap to find a man is in the waiting room with me. I quickly get up prepared to defend myself from him. He looks at me in worry and speaks kindly.
"I'm sorry Lady Sam I didn't mean to frighten you I am Heimdall a friend of Thor and Loki."
I'm shaking a little bit he had scared me quite a bit being a stranger to me and a tall strong looking man. I knew his name though having heard Thor talk about him before, this was one of Thor's best friends. I take a deep breath calming my nerves.
"I- I'm sorry you're fine I'm just a bit jumpy. You're New Asgard's diplomat right?"
"Yes. I'm here to see Loki."
"Oh of course. He's just down the hall I don't know if he's sleeping or not though."
"I will see."
"I really hope he isn't awake worrying about me. I told him he shouldn't but he's so stubborn you know."
"Yes always has been."
I smile.
"I better let you go, He's in room A113."
Heimdall spent some time in there I was going to head in after him but I saw the same nurse from before heading that way shortly after Heimdall left. I'll let him do his job. After a bit I see him leave then I go in to see Loki one last time for today. I'm going to be trying to sleep through the night here.
It's kinda hard to with all the nurses and staff members running around all the time. I would've thought with their invulnerability they wouldn't have had much need for a hospital but the Asgardians seemed to always be getting themselves hurt by sparing with one another and taking part in friendly yet dangerous competitions.
It's a short visit he's really tired from all the visiting he's done today. I spend a few minutes just sitting with him as he sleeps but I quickly get cold and decide it's time for me to go, before I do I plant a kiss on his forehead. He still feels too warm to the touch. I had never really thought about it before I knew about him being a Jotun but he's always felt cold.
I overheard from the staff that he's supposed to have a pretty low internal body temperature at least when compared to most other intelligent species in the nine or I guess eight realms but he's been running a fever since he got here. As I stand up I notice the now open envelopes that contained the cards I smile to myself. So he had looked through them, I grab more cards and a few other gifts from the table and put them next to him on the bed so he can look through more tomorrow. I yawn smiling and go back to the waiting area for the night.

It's been two days since we got here now. The world leaders discussing the International Mutant Registration Act must have thought Magneto was bluffing because when he actually did attack they quickly scattered and rescheduled their meeting. I'm watching it live right now on the TV in the hospital's waiting area there are Avengers at the sight but I never got a call to go.
They must have assumed I'd be too busy, I actually wouldn't have minded the distraction though. I suppose Loki wouldn't've been too keen on me going on a mission without him. I wouldn't have wanted to worry him about that either I guess. On one side of the aisle they're trying to spin the events that made them reschedule their meeting as evidence for why a registration was necessary. Luckily a woman on the other side brings up who protected them from the Brotherhood's attack.
"Yes mutants can be dangerous but as we saw two days ago dangerous doesn't necessarily mean malevolent, it was a team with two mutants on it who were guarding the meeting before the attack even began. Later on a team comprised souly of mutants joined the Avengers to protect the meeting and civilians."
Someone on the opposing side interjects.
"By team you mean hate group."
"I'm sorry I don't see what at all was hateful about them protecting people who would like to see their rights taken away!"
'You go girl!' 'This is exactly what we need!' Hopefully this woman is able to change some opinions. I hear someone come in then and turn to see who it is.
"Sif?"
"Ah- yes, hello. ...Do you know if he's awake?"
"When I checked on him fifteen minutes ago he wasn't."
She nods looking relieved.
"I just wanted to drop something off."
Sif's dementor tells me she's incredibly anxious about her decision to come here, worried Loki's going to reject her company. I actually kind of hope he's awake I think they should talk and stop dancing around their issues.
"Well go ahead then, he's in room A113."
She nods still looking anxious, this is odd to see, a far cry from her demeanor during missions.
"Sif if he's awake you should at least try to talk to him."
"I know... I've never been the best at that... not like other women."
"Just tell him what you told me."
She sighs.
"I will. ...I will try."
I nod smiling reassuringly.
"That's all any of us can do."
She nods and leaves towards his room. I'm curious about how it will go. I'm slightly tempted to eavesdrop but after giving it a second of thought I throw the idea out the window, instead I just go back to watching the meeting.
