I'm currently being lead down the sidewalk by Sam she's still fuming. That entire mess had all happened so suddenly.

"Wait Sam stop a minute."

She stops and we step off into an alleyway not really caring about muggers and the like as Sam and I are far more dangerous than any common criminal.

"What was that?"

She's never done anything like that before outside of battle. It was almost scary.

"Something I'm sorry I didn't do a long time ago."

She looks at me with guilt. I don't understand why. She shouldn't feel guilty, as if I need her protection. I can't help but feel insulted. Did she think I was weak? Did she see me as some child who needed to be coddled?!

"I can handle myself."

She's taken aback by my harsh tone.

"I know you can but you don't have to."

My anger dispels at her words. 'You don't have to' I've always had to. I was raised to it was the Asgardian way or at least my father's version of it. She sees my anger is gone and takes my hands in hers.

"We do this together ok? We take care of each other."

I nod.

"Ok."

My house back in Tønsberg is finished and Sam's paperwork is still yet to be seen by a judge. Jen told us it may take up to a year to go through. I know she's doing everything she can but honestly I'm getting impatient.

I don't want Sam to move out and have to sleep alone again but I would never want to keep her here if this isn't where she wanted to be. So I want her papers to go through quickly, at the same time I'm selfishly glad for the extra time with her.

We moved back into my house in Tønsberg the minute it was done neither of us had wanted to stay in New York. It was nice to be back. The people were excited to see Sam back and some of them even seemed happy that I was back. I'm glad to be home we're both better off here.
