A Tale of Mischief and Mutants

After What I've Seen Today

I'm shocked at what I hear and see while Sam and Loki reunite. She is angry at him and yelling at him while at the same time clinging to him clearly happy he's back. Instead of getting angry like I would have expected with the way she was talking to him Loki apologizes.

"I'm sorry mortal."

"It's alright just don't you ever do that again!! Don't leave me, I can't do any of this without you!"

He looks somehow confused by this when it's obviously true to even me. I can kind of understand it though, after a long time of nobody wanting you around it can be odd to have someone who needs you. While obviously a bit different, I'm reminded of Jubilee when I first joined the X-men.

I was confused by her dependency on me not knowing how anyone could put that kind of trust in me. I wasn't exactly someone people were quick to accept. Sam goes on again raising her voice at him and speaking to him in a way not many people would get away with doing.

"I love you, you dumbass! I don't care if you have issues, I have them too so don't act like you're not allowed to show it!"

Sam and Loki both did have a lot of issues but somehow it seems like they've been able to help each other. Again Loki doesn't look mad at her tone with him, he looks guilty.

"I'm sorry I love you too."

They kiss one another. Though Sam was angry with him she was clearly also concerned for him and he had reacted accordingly. Sam pulls away and looks around the room her eyes land on me and I suddenly find myself in one of her hugs. Her voice hitches up as she speaks and it's clear she's on the verge of tears.

"Thank you... thank you for bringing him back to me."

She begins crying again and I hug her back knowing she needs it.

"It's alright darlin'."

She nods then regains her composer a bit she pulls away from me she addresses the room. She sniffles slightly as she speaks.

"Thank you... you guys... I'm sorry you got woken up because of this... I love you."

Thor gets up and puts a hand on her shoulder.

"There are no need for apologies Sam. Do not apologize for circumstances that you cannot control."

He hugs her also seeing she needs it. He also hugs Loki before leaving. Loki doesn't look thrilled about it but doesn't argue or pull away. Thor eventually does.

"I love you brother."

Loki doesn't respond back vocally but nods slightly, this is apparently enough to make Thor smile. He clasps Loki's shoulder again nodding himself then leaves. After this Mary also hugs Sam.

"Love you."

"Love you too."

Sam then pulls away goes over to Loki and takes his hand.

"Goodnight guys thank you."

She leads him back to their bedroom. We all go back to our rooms attempting to get back to sleep after all the chaos. In the past I haven't been the most keen on their relationship but I'm not really opposed to them being together anymore, especially after what I've seen today.

He was scared to death of hurting her and she was scared to death of him walking away. I honestly don't think he would be able to do it though, even without my interference I don't doubt he would have eventually come back. It's clear that he needs her just as much as she needs him.
