—-Loki—-

As we drive to Drekka's (Sam had informed me it felt far to cold to walk the roads are a bit icy as well) I continue to ponder the ending of their game. I have no doubt I would have made a similar choice but what does that say about me?

I wonder what Sam would have done in a similar circumstance. I'm pulled out of my thoughts by music. Mary has taken control over the aux cord and is currently playing music with vocals unlike anything I've ever heard. It's more like mumbling and yelling than singing.

"What in Odin's name is this?"

Mary answers.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. You like it?"

I make a face and Sam giggles.

"Not your thing?"

"I think not."

"Well I love this song! Mary turn it up!"

Mary chooses to listen to Sam rather than accommodate me. I smile slightly Mary would have been petrified to do that but a few days ago. I feel we're going to get along quite well. I feel a sense of protectiveness over her she's not exactly a small child but compared to Sam and I she's still so innocent and untainted by the atrocities this life is capable of bringing onto people.

I inexplicably feel an obligation to do anything I can to make sure she remains this way. I can somewhat understand Thor's overprotectiveness back in the days our youth. Though I haven't known the girl long I've developed a fondness for her that feels similar to our relationship before everything had happened.

Meaning before the jealousy took over on my end and before the arrogance took over on his end. We're better now but though we've set aside everything I did in the past we will always have a scar in our relationship from my actions. Thor's a kind hearted fool and forgave me but I don't feel I fully deserved it after what happened between us. After everything I did... what I tried to do to Jotunheim... I went mad, I'm glad he stopped me.

I pull into a parking spot and we go into the restaurant. Ferdi as usual spots us as we sit down. Sam and Mary remove their coats and other winter wear with the exception of Mary's hat.

"You don't need to wear that Mary."

Mary looks around the restaurant nervously. Sam assures her.

"Nobody's gonna care about that."

Mary looks at me. I nod.

"You did see Korg did you not?"

She smiles slightly and timidly removes her hat. Ferdi rushes over.

"Prince Loki and Lady Sam! I was wondering when you two were going to pop back in it's been a while!"

It hadn't really been that long but we usually come in at least thrice a week and hadn't done so this past week. I smile slightly before Sam I would come here and Ferdi had been scared to serve me. Ferdi's a young man, a child really still in his adolescents and was intimidated by me and my reputation. Now he came rushing over when he saw us. He notices Mary.

"And who's this lovely young maiden?"

He completely ignores her horns it's really not that unusual a sight in a town housing refugees from Sakaar. Mary blushes.

"I'm Mary. Sam's Sister."

"Ah, I can see the resemblance you share the same beautiful eyes."

Mary blushes even further. Realizing that he was now flirting with Mary I quickly change the topic, sending Ferdi a warning glance. Ferdi's a good young man but her falling for him would only break her heart as she would quickly outgrow him.
