Exposition (Background Information)

IMPORTANT) Background information: Samantha Howlett (Sam) is a mutant with the ability to take injuries from other people and heal them through direct skin contact. When she does this, she then has the injury she took she can also inflict injuries onto others through direct skin contact. These injuries are only injuries that she has been inflicted with or has taken from others.

She has some enhanced but not accelerated regenerative healing abilities. For example if she was hurt in a way that would cripple her her body would likely be able to repair the damage and be functional but it would still take a long time for her to recover and she'd still have scars from the injury.

When New York is threatened by Loki and the Chitauri her abilities manifest. Horrified her parents disown her and send her (a then twelve-year-old girl) alone out onto the streets of New York. It isn't long before she finds herself in need of help when she stumbles across a local gang's meeting place.

She's helped by none other than the X-men's own Wolverine, who upon hearing her plight offers to take her to Xavier's school.  From this point (late 2012) to early 2018 she lives with the X-men) in 2018 she completes her high school education and is kidnapped.

In early 2023 she is rescued by a reinstituted S.H.I.E.L.D. The snap DOES NOT happen in this AU making Sam 23 during this story. {ok now that we have all that exposition out of the way our story can finally begin}

Skip if you want it's just for those who didn't read there are important details in it that help set up the universe in which this story takes place so I want it to be easy to access even if you're looking at my story just in your library.

When Samantha a mutant and X-man is rescued from her captors by S.H.I.E.L.D she finds comfort from an unlikely source. This story follows the relationship between my OC Samantha Howlett and everyone's favorite Jotun Loki Odinson. This is an AU where the X-men have existed in the MCU since the very beginning they are involved in the events that take place in the MCU such as the battle of New York and other "Avengers level threats."

In this AU Thor Ragnarok goes down slightly differently with Thor loosing his hammer when he falls from the bifrost instead of it being broken by Hela. He finds it later and figures out its no match for Hela. Thor then goes to forge Stormbreaker which is also not strong enough and he's forced to allow Ragnarok to take place. Thanos is killed prior to 2018 so he never gets the infinity stones and most of the events in Infinity War and Endgame do not occur.

In this AU Spider-Man has a public identity now and everyone's knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man. He didn't flip out like he does in the movies because Tony is there to help him through it. Magic works slightly differently than it does in the movies because I wrote this before some of the rules with it were established and it's too late to change it now for story reasons. There are also other differences that luckily can be explained away via the multiverse. Though I try to draw a lot of inspiration from the main MCU timeline and work with the continuity that gives me it's not always possible to do because of how this story needs to play out.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Strong language, violence, some sexual content (honestly not much more than a PG-13 movie would show) mentions and descriptions of physical abuse and sexual abuse.
