—-Loki—-

Thor isn't the happiest to be woken up at five in the morning but when he sees we're in our armor he quickly realizes something's wrong.

"What's going on?"

"We need to get to Westchester"

Thor gives Sam a look that says 'again?!' She sees this and chuckles slightly before becoming serious again.

"This time I'm not gonna go fight anybody. They found the professor's plane."

Thor nods knowing about Xavier and what he did for Sam. He puts a hand on her shoulder.

"Do you want me to accompany you?"

"Well I'm probably already pushing it by bringing Loki along. This is kind of a personal thing for the others... I'm sorry."

"I understand."

Thor still looks worried about her. He's really taken a brotherly affection to her. Sam gives him a small smile.

"I'll be ok Thor."

He nods and calls Stormbreaker to his hand.

"Then come, I will open the bifrost for you."

We step outside and he calls upon the bifrost. We reappear in the front yard of what I can only assume to be Xavier's School. Thor leaves after a short goodbye. Sam goes straight inside but I find myself hesitant. 'What are they going to say when they see she's brought me along?' Sam notices me lagging behind and calls from the doorway.

"Come on Lo'."

I catch up to her. She knows I'm anxious.

"Don't worry you coming with us shouldn't be a big issue, the only thing is Scott can be an ass so just let me do the talking I'll deal with him."

I nod though I am the one with the silver tongue, she's probably better equipped to deal with this Scott person seeing as she's known him for years. She leads me down some stairs to a room with a round table in it, The X-men are already seated there.

Sam doesn't think twice about waltzing into the room. I reluctantly follow. Sam questions the group confidently she clearly feels at home here and displays none of the shyness she usually displays on missions with the Avengers.

"So guys what's the plan?"

A man wearing shades stands up and gestures towards me. I remember him from when they came to visit he had ignored me the entire time.

"What is he doing here?!"

I knew my presence would be the cause of conflict I wish it wasn't I don't want to cause Sam any problems with her family. Maybe I should have stayed out of it, then again Sam told me she wanted me along and I know I'd be worried about her if she had gone without me. Sam gives him a glare that could kill. Clearly she wants me here and won't be changing her mind.

"Scott do you really want to do this right now?"

"He has no business here."

She steps forward staring Scott down though he's almost a foot taller than her.

"I need him here."

"Well I can't trust him here."

I look at the floor not wanting any emotion on my face to be seen by the whole room. Why did some part of me think this would go any differently than any other time I'm working with someone new? It's always the same no matter what else they've heard about me or witnessed from me they can only remember New York. Sam continues to stubbornly stand her ground.

"If he can't come then I'm not coming."

"Maybe you shouldn't!"

Sam looks angry at this remark. I've only ever seen her this angry on one other occasion and it nearly ended with a physical altercation. I'm a bit angry too it's already hard enough for her to hear the professor is likely dead in Antarctica she doesn't need to be ridiculed for bringing me along too. I somehow manage to hold my tongue, getting angry will only prove Scott's point.

"Knock it off Summers!"

Logan. I feel relieved we've been on better terms since the battle with the Black Order. Scott shifts his unseen glare from Sam to Logan.

"I'm the leader I decide who goes!"

"An' if Sam ain't goin neither am I!"

Scott turns to Logan in anger then another X-man speaks out.

"Gambit feels the same mon amie."

Scott turns to the man who spoke.

"Look Sam is more than welcome to come along, it's him I have a problem with."

Scott persists in trying to make me leave. A tall woman with mostly auburn hair other than a white streak stands up and yells at Scott in what I recognize from the time I've spent on Midgard as a southern drawl.

"Hush up Scott! Honey, I know you're upset 'bout the professor but that's no reason t' act meaner than a wet panther! If Gambit ain't goin I ain't neither! An' I don't think he's the only one that won't be comin' if Sam ain't!"

Scott looks around the room other X-men are nodding in agreement with the woman's words.  I feel myself involuntarily smile they either don't hate me or they have enough respect for Sam to set their reservations about me aside for her sake, either way I'm happy. Scott sees that this is a loosing battle and looks at Sam. He should be aware after knowing her so long Sam's not going to budge on the issue.

"I'm not coming without him."

Scott sighs defeated.

"Fine, but if he causes any problems you have to come back home."

"Summer-"

Logan begins to object but is cut off by Sam.

"Deal."

Sam doesn't even second guess her agreement to his terms. This it hits me hard how she trusts me one hundred percent. She turns to me and gives me a reassuring smile. As if to say 'See? No problem.' I just smile back. She's too wonderful.
