—-Loki—-
I wake to find Vili's face uncomfortably close to mine her tongue tickling my nose as it flicks in and out. 'Vili you're lucky you did that to me and not Mary!' Mary probably wouldn't have kept calm waking up and seeing giant snake eyes staring back at her. I remove Vili from her current position so she's not in my face and stroke the serpent's scales.
As I observe the couch in the dim morning light I realize Sam had not woken me during the night and must have slept soundly, I also realize we had all fallen asleep on the couch. I smile seeing Sam still peacefully sleeping. I wonder what in her dream brought her anxiety about. She hadn't told me what the dream was about which worries me.
Mary wakes up stretching then smiling at me. I find myself returning it. Mary had done something that not many mortals had, she'd reserved her judgment of me and given me a chance. I can't help but regard her fondly. Mary whispers not wanting to wake Sam up.
"Did she have any nightmares? I can be a bit of a heavy sleeper sometimes."
I shake my head. Mary grins her worry over her sister lifted. 'She's a sweet child.' There it is again, sentiment. Mary's somehow bypassed my usual guarded nature much like Peter had when I had first arrived in Midgard. Literally everyone who hadn't been with us on the ship besides Peter had wanted to lock me in the Raft and throw away the key immediately after my arrival.
Peter instead listened to Thor and Bruce's side of the story before coming to a decision on how he felt about me being here and he somehow convinced the others to do the same. He had looked at me then and hadn't just seen a monster he'd seen me, me and my admittedly terrified demeanor. He had cared enough to figure out what was actually going on.
Mary, though hesitant at first, had reserved her judgment by attempting to start a conversation with me in the car when she arrived. Sam stirs and wakes up. She stretches and yawns.
"Morning."
"Yes I'm aware of the time mortal."
She rolls her eyes at my teasing.
"Then good morning."
"Good morning, I trust you slept well?"
She nods with a smile. Though I had figured as much I'm relieved to have her confirmation.
"You?"
"Like a babe."
She worries over me as well. I'm glad I haven't had any nightmares with Mary here that would most definitely scare her away.
"I slept great too thanks for asking."
Mary is being sarcastic but is smiling and obviously not actually bitter at all. I'm glad for her sarcasm it's obvious she's not afraid of me anymore. She goes on.
"So what's on the itinerary for today?"
Sam shrugs we had pretty much shown her everything there was to see in Tønsberg.
"I guess we could go over to Thor's and play video games."
I immediately reject the idea.
"Absolutely not. I will not deal with his moronic online friends."
I don't care for the other players in the games as they're often rude and I suffer from anger issues so I don't exactly find the experience of playing online with Thor and his online friends enjoyable.
"Oh come on Lo' we don't have to play online or anything we could even play here. We could borrow his PlayStation and play the Last of Us. You'd like the story in the game I promise. You wouldn't even have to play either, you could just watch. It's a single player game."
'Story?' I had been under the assumption that video games didn't follow a chronological storyline also single player? Why was that option never brought to my attention? With this new information I give in.
"Oh Alright then. Why not?"

When Thor answers the door Sam strolls past him into his house.
"We've come to steal your PS3!"
Thor laughs.
"Fine by me I barely use it."
"Wait seriously? I was joking I just wanted to borrow it."
"Please take it off my hands it's been collecting dust. I have a PS5."
Sam looks a little surprised.
"I forgot that released while I... do you have the Last of Us part 1 on it or will I have to download it?"
"It's on there I ended up buying it again for the PS5 and replaying it along with it's DLC."
They may as well be speaking Shiväisith I have no idea what they're talking about.
"I've never played the DLC is it any good?"
"Yes but it's not on the PS3 you should come over and play it sometime. You should also play Part 2 sometime."
"I know I've been wanting to I just didn't want to ask to spend hours invading your house while I played it."
Thor waves her concerns away with a smile.
"Ah don't worry about it."
"I was also scrolling HBO the other day and saw there was a series is it any good?"
"The clickers are done phenomenally and Pedro Pascal is a surprisingly good fit for Joel."
"I'll have to give it a watch."
Thor looks through boxes for the device and eventually produces it. He hands it to Sam. He looks at me.
"Are you going to be playing this with her?
"I'm not going to be playing but she's insisted I watch. Mary is going to play though, they're switching back and forth."
He looks at me excitedly.
"Let me know what you think of it when they complete it."
I nod. We say goodbye and head back home.
——————————————————————
It takes a bit for Sam and Mary to get the device set up when we return home. Knowing I will be of no help I had resigned myself to reading on the couch until they finished.
"Ok it's all set up!"
Sam does something quite dangerous and takes the book from me.
"Hey!!"
Anyone else would have a stab wound right now. Thankfully she at least takes the bookmark that's sitting on the coffee table and marks my page before slamming it closed and setting it on the table. She actually laughs when she sees me angry about it, while Mary is wisely shying away from me at the moment and has physically distanced herself from us.
"You're so cute!"
Sam kisses me I'm confused but kiss her back. I can't help but laugh when she pulls away she really is a strange mortal. She laughs too.
"I love you."
'This woman! I can't understand her sometimes!'
"I love you too mortal. Don't touch my things!"
She nods with a smirk that tells me she'll do it again because she knows she can. Why does she have to be so damn mischievous and press all of my buttons? And why does part of me love it? I smile at her. Mary comes back over to the couch.
"You two are the weirdest couple I've ever met and I mean that from the bottom of my heart and with every fiber of my being!"
We laugh at this Sam takes the controller and sits down leaning on me. Luckily not on my injured arm. Mary comes and sits down too as Sam begins the game.
