—-Loki—-

I bide my time for several days waiting for a time I can slip away to New York to discuss my plans to propose to Sam with Peter. Finally she's decided to go over to Korg's and spend the day on video games. I have been texting with Peter about this for a while. I will have to tell my brother about my plans I only hope the affable oaf can keep his lips sealed.

I find myself once again on Thor's doorstep for help with something to do with Sam. I knock on the door. Thor looks slightly confused but smiles when he sees its me.

"What brings you here brother?"

"I need you to bring me to New York I'm going to speak with Peter about something very important."

"Alright."

Thor grabs Stormbreaker and walks past me out the door not asking for me to explain.

"Don't you want to know what it is?"

"That's not my business if you do not wish for me to know."

I'm genuinely pleasantly surprised he isn't prying but I also now realize I want to tell him about my plans. I want him to help me through the process though he's just as clueless as I am.

"What if I do?"

He smiles and steps back into the house.

"What is so important then Loki?"

I suddenly find myself nervous to say my intentions out loud. I step into the house too letting the door close behind me.

"I... well I've begun doing some research as of late."

"What kind of research?"

"Just various Midgardian customs, Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, ... marriage."

He looks at me in confusion not understanding what I'm trying to say. I'll dumb it down. I sigh.

"I'm going to speak with Peter to get a better idea of how to go about proposing to Sam in accordance with Midgard's culture."

"OH! Brother this is good!!!"

He hugs me. Oh to Hel with it, no one else is here and this is a very important moment. I hug him back though I'm not as enthusiastic about it as Thor is. When we pull away Thor's beaming at me with a big dumb grin. I let myself smile back then drop it looking at him seriously.

"You cannot tell her about this it's supposed to be a surprise."

He nods.

"I swear I won't breathe a word to her."

I let myself smile again. I am both cursed and blessed to have this good-natured idiot for a brother. He pretty much forces me out of the door in excitement.

"Come now brother I will take you to Peter at once!"

We appear outside of Peter's apartment building it's very early in the morning in New York. Thor leaves after I step away. I send Peter a text letting him know I'm here. I get two texts in a row back in response. His first response is full of sarcasm.

-'No really?! I thought it was some other Norse gods using the bifrost'-

-'That shit's freaking loud you're gonna wake up the whole neighborhood 😤.'-

I guess we hadn't thought that through, oh well I feel my need for answers far outweighs these mortals' need for sleep. It isn't long before Peter meets me outside.
