—-Sam—-
When we arrive at the airport to get onto the private plane. There are a fair amount of reporters there, they must have caught wind that an Avenger was departing from this airport today. I hide my face from them I don't want my face to end up on the news. I know that if the X-men see me they'll come out of the shadows and put themselves at risk trying to get to me.
We walk into the airport past the sea of of reporters bombarding us with questions. I would be frozen in fear from the amount of people crowding around me if it wasn't for Loki pulling me along. Finally we get inside away from the reporters. I breath a sigh of relief.
We check in with a security team then walk through the terminal and get onto the plane. It's nicer than the Blackbird. I look around impressed by the spaciousness and high quality of the plane's interior. We take a seat sitting next to each other even though there's plenty of room to sit elsewhere.
I feel a buzz in my jean pocket and nearly fall out of my seat in panic. I giggle at myself as I realize it's just my phone. There's a text from an unknown number -'You in the air yet?'- 'That's got to be Peter.' 'Damnit Peter! You scared the shit out of me!' I think to myself then go online finding a gif that works for my current level of saltyness.
I choose a gif from a clip Peter had shown me of a 'feral child' talking to a news anchor with the caption -'Wouldn't you like to know weather boy!'-
The unknown number responds without missing a beat . -'Where are your parents? ... this kid's sketchy.'- I giggle. 'Yup that's definitely Peter.'
I put his contact info into my phone then attempt to find a picture of Spider-Man from Google images I can't find any that I like until I stumble upon the Daily Bugle's website I save a picture from there and set it as his contact photo. I continue texting with him for a few minutes giggling to myself at some of the memes he sends me.
"Having fun?"
Loki asks I look up and notice we are now in the air. I smile and nod although I know he was being somewhat sarcastic he feels left out of whatever our conversation may be.
"Don't worry Lo', I didn't forget about you. What's your number?"
I had heard Jennifer Walters call him that when we were leaving the courthouse and decided I liked the nickname. He looks bewildered for a second and I laugh at him.
"What? I like the nickname."
He shakes his head at me. I'm using a teasing tone with him, one I have reserved for close friends and family. I feel more like myself now than I have in a while now that I'm heading to New Asgard. For the first time I allow myself to think about what my future will hold, it looks bright. Loki gives me his number then I snap a photo of him without warning. The flash is on.
"Hey! I wasn't ready!"
"Hmm that's too bad this is your profile forever now."
I show him my screen and the unflattering and in my opinion hilarious picture of his face that's now his profile picture.
"Sam!"
He reaches for my phone I assume to delete it I hold it away from him and laugh at his frustration. We continue our banter for a bit. When our in flight meal comes we quickly recompose ourselves for the flight attendant's sake, barely managing to hold back laughter until they leave. After we're done eating we've calmed down a bit and Loki pulls out one of his books and begins reading.
I take out my phone and type in the password for my YouTube account and being watching five years worth of videos I missed from the channels I subscribed to... so much has changed. Eventually though we both get tired and end up napping basically on top of each other. I wonder what the flight attendant thought of us.
