"Okay, I am a tiny weeny bit concerned. Why did that guy walk out of here alive? If it were up to me, I would have done this trick where I flick my fingers and his intestines rupture--my favourite trick that I actually tested out on a librarian who pissed me off-- and I would make all those chunks and organs push out his ass--" Kai rambled on, brushing glass pieces from her shirt and cupped her face.

Bonnie held back the bile and quickly interrupted him. "These witches showed up out of nowhere and their magic...it was a type that seemed to rattle every core of my magic." Bonnie's eyes lingered to the spot where the witches were chanting. The effects of the recent spell was still in her system and she wobbled on her feet, gripping Kai for support. "We need to find Hayley."

"We need to check up on you first," Kai mumbled, brushing her hair aside to peck her cheek. "We haven't had time together."

Bonnie shrugged away from his touch, her head starting to pound. "Because we don't have time. The baby--"

"The baby this, the baby that, when are you going to stop? When are going to stop caring about people who don't give a shit about you? I thought that after leaving Mystic Falls, you'd start focusing on your own life, focusing on me. But here you are, chasing after a baby that isn't even yours," Kai bellowed, throwing his arms up in frustration.

Bonnie whirled to him, eyebrows reaching her hairline. "So you're giving me hell because I'm selfless? Because I want to help a child that is being hunted by everyone in the world? It's the right thing." Bonnie understood that her current attachment to the child had gotten intense but the approach Kai was coming with was almost insulting. "I can't prioritize you all the time."

Kai scoffed, shaking his head at the ceiling. "So you're going to give me up, a perfectly stable relationship by the way, for Hayley? We did it, we're in New Orleans. Klaus will find her, let's just leave."

"Stable relationship? Nothing about you is stable! Yo-you're--" Bonnie scoffed in bafflement and turned back to the door. "We don't have time for this. I told you to stay with Hayley."

"This is my fault now? I wanted to check up on you because even if you don't, I care about you."

"If you really did, you would have stayed with Hayley because you know how much she means to me."

"Except I don't. You just met her, how are you closer to her than you are to me?"

"You wouldn't understand." Bonnie couldn't even understand on her own. Something about that child....it was unexplainable. Bonnie sighed and made her way to the door, swinging it open. She was so caught up in her thoughts, she didn't register the pair of arms wrapping around her. For a moment, she suspected it was Kai but it felt odd, lifeless, cold. She couldn't recognize the warmth and she was a second too late when a hand clasped above her mouth. Bonnie screamed, the sound muffled. It was now that she realized that there was a cloth being pressed to her nostrils. Her mind became frantic, screaming for Kai, begging for him to get away.

Bonnie was immobile against the man and eventually, she sagged against him, knocked out.

When she came to her senses, the blinding lights of the sun shone through the curtains. Bonnie felt something soft underneath her, the comforting scent of a bed. She froze when the memories came flooding back and shot up, eyes flicking around the room. The walls were dark but in an old-fashioned way.

She pushed from the bed, quickly reaching for the door. Bonnie half expected it to be locked but narrowed her eyes when it freely swung open. She walked into the hallway, glancing to the left and right. An antique carpet traveled down both ways, the paintings hanging against the beige walls. Lamps were planted inside the hall walls and you could spot vases of flowers. Bonnie slowly approached the stairs, descending down. It looked like a mansion and soon, Bonnie found herself in the living room.
