They both stared at the test with stern concentration, silence settled between them for the past two minutes. "I'm pregnant," Bonnie stated with a slow blink, eyes fixed on the two lines. She half expected for the second line to disappear, declaring that it was a figment of her imagination. It didn't. It made sense, her morning sickness, tender aches and extreme tiredness. But it didn't make sense at the same time. Aithne said—
"You're pregnant," Kai breathlessly declared. "You're pregnant," he repeated, a wild smile ripping his face. His arms immediately caging her small body, plastering Bonnie to his figure with utter joy.
Bonnie was too frozen in shock to return the gesture, her mind was too busy trying to understand, to wrap her mind around the news. She was pregnant when she not allowed to be pregnant. Maybe Aithne changed her mind? Maybe her own ancestors fought for her beyond the living, granting her the ability to continue their bloodline? She was a Bennett after all, nothing was impossible. Bonnie was known to break magic's rules.
Still, she couldn't believe it. She was given a second chance. Kai pulled back, cupping her cheek. His eyes were twinkling and a small smile crept upon her face. Bonnie rested her forehead on his, tears forming at her eyelids. She gripped his chest, closing her eyes, thanking whatever forces came together to grant her—them this joy.

When Bonnie returned to the compound, she couldn't wipe the smile off her face, it was almost permanent. It's the first thing Rebekah and Hayley noticed when she returned, preparing to announce that there might be an unknown sister out in the world.
"What's got you so contended?" Rebekah asked, bouncing Hope on her hip. Ever since the threat of the witches was shut down, Klaus deemed it safe enough for their daughter to return.
Hayley crossed her arms. "Probably sex. There's nothing that can make you glow that bright."
"Aw, don't be sucky. You're only doom and gloom because you're getting none," Rebekah rolled her eyes.
"Oh yeah? Where are your late-night conquerors?" Hayley huffed, raising an eyebrow.
"All gone by sunlight," Rebekah grinned and Hayley rolled her eyes. They turned back to Bonnie, waiting. "Well?"
Bonnie bit her lip, her hands behind her back as she announced, "I'm pregnant."
Silence. Even Hope stopped drooling, big eyes glued to Bonnie. Hayley was the first to scream, the noise in the room skyrocketing. "Oh my god."
Rebekah let the toddler slide to the ground immediately and went straight for the cabinet. "This calls for a celebration."
Elijah wandered in, eyes narrowed in confusion. "What's all this about?"
"Tell the Quarter to prepare festivities, we've got news!" Rebekah performed a mini dance, her face more lit up than a Christmas tree. Somehow, she now had a bottle of champagne in her hands, popping the lid. The room exploded with shouts and laughter, especially as Hayley began to dance. "There's another baby on the way."
Elijah made eye contact with Bonnie, giving her a subtle nod of congratulations. She smiled brighter, especially as Klaus and Kai stumbled in too. The hybrid had his arms wrapped around the witch's shoulder, both hollering with laughter. Kai must have spilled the beans. Klaus approached Bonnie, offering her a congratulating hug. "This certainly works well with our plans."
"What plans?" Kai said as he sank into a chair, accepting the champagne shute Rebekah offered him. She poured a generous amount, the glass foaming with white creamy bubbles.
"We're leaving the compound," Hayley declared. "We think that it's best that we have a proper family home, one where Hope doesn't meddle with all the casualties people have against our family. This will still be our home, just for business. Elijah found a mansion up north."
"And we would have two little annoying children running around," Rebekah pointed out, drinking right from the bottle.
"Hope and your child would bring so much turbulence," Klaus predicted with a grin. "I can sense it in my bones."
"One calls to the other, huh? You're the hotspot for trouble, brother," Elijah slapped his shoulder with playful comfort.
Klaus shoved him back with a grin, shaking his head. "You're one to talk, you were the one that..." Both brothers began comparing who brought the most issues over the years.
Bonnie sat back, bathing in the jubilation and delight floating around the room. She was truly happy. The rest of the day was full of partying. Everyone on the streets, the vampires, the werewolves, the humans, were celebrating. Elijah and Kai competed for the best karaoke singer and Bonnie couldn't feel her insides from all the laughter. Klaus and Hayley battled for best dancer and Rebekah concluded that they scored the position below last place. Half the city didn't even know why they were partying. The night was crammed with dancing, laughter and beaming joy.
By the time they went to bed at five am, the streets were still chorusing with trumpets and saxophones, the air still stuffed with the scent of sweet beignets and gumbo. Bonnie went to sleep with a hand brushing her stomach, already having dreams for the baby.

Bonnie and Kai stayed in bed for half the day before they decided to even consider leaving their room. The morning and afternoon were scheduled for intense lovemaking, brainstorming for the child itself and a future for them as well. Bonnie planned to let her other friends at Mystic Falls know but after the activities from last night and with her mind prioritizing the fact that she had to tell Klaus and Elijah that they might have a family member out in the unknown diverted her attention.
Eventually Bonnie stepped out of the room in a creamy brown jumpsuit, topped with a jean jacket. She yawned, finding Klaus and Jackson talking in the living room.
This was the first time Bonnie met Jackson in person, literally, and she was taken aback by his appearance. He had olive skin, hazel eyes, dark chocolate brown curls with a beard.
"Good evening," Bonnie greeted with a comfortable smile. "I'm Bonnie."
"I know," Jackson chuckled, holding out his hand. "Jackson. I'm here for Hayley."
Bonnie accepted his hand. Klaus cleared his throat, folding his hands behind his back. "Yes, yes, Hayley. Our little wolf. I've brought you here to discuss your intentions with the mother of my child."
Bonnie tried to choke back her laughter. Jackson scratched his beard nervously. "I am a very lucky man to have a woman like her to even look my way. When I'm with her...I feel like I'm who I'm meant to be, an Alpha, a protector--"
"Yada, yada. If anything, it's the other way around. Hayley is as much as a Queen as you are a King. And I would bet my kingdom to prove that she could beat your ass," he mused. Klaus paced in front of the wolf and the movement seemed to make Jackson even more uncomfortable. "I'll have you know that if anything...dire is to happen to Hayley, you'll respond to my wrath. I am aware of the whereabouts of every single wolf in the Quarter and we wouldn't want them to suffer the misfortune of pain from your doing, now would we?"
Jackson's eyes ever slightly widened, giving Bonnie a glare. She only shrugged, crossing her arms. "I'm sorry. Just make sure you don't break her heart."
Klaus nodded. "Let her break yours first."
Jackson chuckled awkwardly but it didn't sound like Klaus or Bonnie were joking. Just as uncomfortable silence settled in the room, the door opened, revealing Hayley. Her short hair was in bouncy curls and she wore tight black jeans, a cream tank top with a brown leather jacket. Jackson stared at her in awe, his cheeks blushing slightly when their gaze met.
Hayley cleared her throat, running a hand through her hair. "They weren't bothering you, were they?" She addressed Jackson.
Klaus boomed in laughter, grabbing Jackson's neck like they were best buddies. A little too tight. "Nothing of the sorts. Just wishing you two the best date night." He patted Jackson on the back and watched as the two left the room, Hayley giving him a nasty eye. Klaus only grinned wider.
