Bonnie sat at the dining table, one leg propped on the chair she was sitting on. She scarfed down the burger and fries Matt delivered to her house. She was too exhausted to actually go order and having a friend in the industry had its perks. Matt wanted to stay, claiming that they had drifted but Bonnie shut him down and said all she would do was sleep. Although the real reason why she slammed the door in his face was because there was a parasite in her house.
Kai watched Bonnie finish the remaining of her food, hand propped around the back of a chair.
"Why are you here?" Bonnie thought out loud, drinking water to wash the food down.
Kai sighed. "I was going to dip out of town because I know that Klaus will kill me on sight but then I remembered, you were sick."
"Not sick anymore," Bonnie corrected, grabbing the take-out styrofoam and tossed it in the garbage.
"I also wanted to stick around to see if you noticed that nasty bleeding scar on your back," Kai pointed out. "Obviously you're not thinking clearly."
Bonnie glanced at her back, pulling her shirt to see if he was lying. Kai was right, red blood tainted Bonnie's white t-shirt. She grunted, only now feeling the raw stinging feeling. "Great. Now can you leave? You've been at my side like a dog and I need rest so I can go help Stefan watch over the others."
Kai rose, flicking his fingers a couple of times before the cabinet to the medkit opened. He motioned with his wrist and the red box threw itself to the counter. Bonnie jumped back, Kai already positioned behind her. She flinched back when she felt his warm fingers brush the edge of her white shirt. "Relax, I'm not going to do anything without your consent. I just want to treat the cut."
As if his voice was a command, her tense muscles visibly relaxed. She angled her body to him, bending over the counter slightly with her hands planted on either side of her. Kai reached for her shirt again, pushing the shirt higher so it could expose the wound.
He grabbed the kit, flicking it open and pulled out the alcohol. Kai didn't even give a warning when he soaked her back with the burning infection liquid. Bonnie recoiled, groaning painfully. He muttered apologies before he dabbed it with cotton. Kai was like a machine, pulling out all the materials to fix the cut. His fingers were like the ends of an active match, burning every ridge of her back. Bonnie closed her eyes to try and contain it. Finally, when the strip of the bandage sat over the wound, Kai closed her exposed back with the t-shirt. "All done."
Bonnie sighed deeply, her bones shaking slightly. She turned to Kai. "Thank you." It was almost a sinful whisper.
Kai observed her silently and Bonnie sort of wished that it wasn't uncomfortable because it would have meant nothing was there. Only the tension in the room signalled that everything was there. Bonnie felt her heart pick up when Kai rose his hand to touch the side of her face. She didn't flinch, instead she leaned into the touch. His thumb ran across her lips, his other fingers cupping her face. His own breath was short and he couldn't believe how beautiful she was.
The moment begged for it so Kai leaned in. Bonnie closed her eyes, waiting for his lips to brush hers. Once they did, it was like a perfect pressure of right and wrong, the right dose of light and dark. Kai captured her lips, tugging them for her response. He knew that this was the right way, this was how their kiss should have been. Not how it was at the club, unspoken between them.
Bonnie found her body betraying her, her lips dancing with Kai's. He was eager, she could feel it in the arms that enclosed around her when the kiss got deeper. His tongue pushed between her lips and Bonnie knew there was no going back. Their tongues intermingled and her back fell against the counter edge. They then broke apart, panting for the air they both stole from each other. Kai's eyes searched hers, asking a question. She must have seen what he was looking for because he hoisted her unto the counter, seizing her lips once more. He was savage, going in for every stroke of her lips against his. Her fingers tousled his hair, gripping the roots. Kai's hands carved intricate paths along her hips, pushing himself further into Bonnie's legs. She sat wide for him, hugging him closer to her body. Every physical contact she was experiencing was like embers igniting along her skin and even her heart. They were like fuse and explosion, hand in hand and ideal.
Kai detached his mouth from hers, slowly travelling down her to her collarbone. Bonnie threw her head back, the fondness of his pecks trailing down her upper body euphoric. "Whenever you're ready," he muttered against her skin, the ripple of his voice echoing on every part of her. Kai's fingers were waiting right at the edges of her shirt once more, waiting for permission. She nodded, in turn running a hand under his shirt. He kissed back up her face, landing on her lips once more. They molded into each other and Bonnie felt his hand slip under her shirt.
Kai slowly made his way to her ribcage, feeling her heart bombard loudly. It was now that he realized how dangerous this feeling was and how addicting. He understood it all, why Bonnie sacrificed so much. Why she was so broken after Enzo died. He never wanted to feel that and it was absurd how Bonnie survived it. Kai pulled away completely, hovering over her. Bonnie's eyes flew open in alert. "What?"
Kai grabbed her arms, pulling her up to him. He held her face with both hands, placing a kiss on her nose. One hand detached and went straight to her back. He ran a slow finger up her spine, making sure to not brush her wound. Bonnie shivered in satisfaction, her gaze completely vulnerable to him. His other fingers were stroking her lips. "Do you like that, BonBon?" He purred against her ear adoringly. Bonnie couldn't help but moan slightly, Kai later laughing.
