Bonnie led the two back to the compound, to find Klaus alone, sitting on a foldable chair at a table. His finger was toying with a cup of whiskey and his murderous eyes rose to Bonnie.
"I have good news and bad news," she started. "Good news, Mary Lou and Nora can help Hope with her growth spurt."
"What's the bad?" Elijah asked, leading the little child by the hand out into the courtyard.
"She needs to be educated and familiar with all her supernatural aspects before she loses control. Your daughter might as well be a time ticking bomb, carolling an infant's lullaby," Nora answered. Elijah tightened his grip on Hope's hand and she glanced up curiously at him.
"Cami walked in on me snapping the head of a tourist who pissed me off," Klaus said drowsily. That caught everyone's attention. "I contemplated snapping her pretty little neck. But hesitated. Now she's on the loose, no doubt itching to yell down the streets that there are demons in the streets of New Orleans. I plan to hunt her down and take care of her once and for all." To compel or kill her, he didn't specify.
Bonnie crossed her arms, "Cami's a good person, she drinks vervain 24/7 thanks to her uncle. Try to calm her down and explain everything, this could be good." He didn't respond. She turned to Hope. "We have to fix her before things get worse."
Klaus stood up rapidly, stepping into Bonnie's path. "You must be passionately insane if you think that I will allow them to approach my child after what you revealed about our downfall," he pointed at the Heretics.
Bonnie placed a comforting hand on his chest. "Klaus, it's okay. We can trust them, I'll be there for the entire spell. Hope needs this."
The corner of his lips twitched as he stepped around Bonnie, approaching the girls. "If anything is to happen to my daughter—"
Mary Lou scoffed, crossing her arms. "You'll what? Let us kick your ass again like we did downtown?"
"Pathetic," Nora threw in with a coy grin, playing along with her partner's insult. She must have anticipated the move because by the time Klaus charged for her throat, Nora had him pinned against the wall. It didn't last long because he threw her back against the table, the furniture breaking.
Klaus marched towards her, eyes gold. Hayley appeared, pushing him back to break the fight and landed a punch on his face. "What did I say? No fighting in front of Hope." The child herself had a fist in her mouth, watching the whole interaction with wide shiny eyes.
Klaus growled and wiped his mouth from the blood leaking down his lip. He turned his back without another word, leaving completely.
"I wasn't aware that he was an overgrown child," Nora brushed her shoulder after recovering.
Elijah gave Hope's hand to Hayley, adjusting his suit. "You do not come into our home, uninvited, and insult a member of our family. Up to this point, we've granted you the courtesy to even see Hope."
Nora sighed, nodding. "My apologies. I am aware that times are fragile for you after what happened."
"So you'll understand why Niklaus is a bit...hesitant. Regardless, cure my niece and make sure you see yourself out." Elijah flashed a small smile and followed Klaus.
Mary Lou rolled her eyes. "Are they always this charming?"
"Tell me about it," Hayley shook her head, planting a kiss on Hope's head. "Thank you for helping us. I'm scared she's going to start saying dada before mama."

They finished the spell around midnight and Bonnie felt spent by the time she returned back to the compound. The Heretics did leave after they were done, farewelling the witch, not forgetting to wish Bonnie a happy birthday. She would have made her way back to the apartment but the compound was much closer. Soon, she was stumbling into the room she was previously in with a yawn.
