The mood shifted into a sombre tone and even the sky seemed to darken. Freya proudly wiped her tears and smiled, waiting for Klaus's reaction. For once, he didn't seem to have one. He only turned on his heel.
"Niklaus, where are you going?" Elijah demanded.
"To Cami," Hayley answered for him as Klaus slammed the doors. Cami was his therapist and it made sense that he was going to her to expulse all his pent-up feelings. Hayley turned to Freya. "I am so sorry that that happened to you."
Freya cleared her throat as Rebekah rubbed her back in comfort. "No biggie. I'm home now."
"We're glad to have you home...sister." Elijah tested the word against his tongue and found himself smiling. He nodded to Freya and led them all to the living room of the compound.
There they sat, listening to Freya's tale.
She explained how Esther feared losing another one of her children after the Henri incident. She called upon her core magic, begging them to relieve her of the fear. But well known, magic has a cost. Always. To grant her children youth, Esther had to give up her firstborn, a young Freya. Firstborns were terrifyingly dominant with their power and with her age, magic was attracted to her youth. Esther had made the decision and woke up young Freya in the middle of the night, promising the child a run through the fields of blossoming peonies. Little did the girl know that that was the last night she felt warmth. Esther locked Freya up in a coffin, burying her own child. She ignored her screams, the banging, the pleading and restless tears. She trapped her own child in the soil, in the house of magic with no way out. When Elijah and the others turned into their immortal beings thanks to Freya's sacrifice, an entity was born. The Hollow. It whispered sweet nothings, torturing the young mind, promising a world of power and destruction once she rose, when the time came. Eventually, after the years passed, Freya learned to suppress those vicious demons, completely unaware that they were still inside her.
So she was welcomed in a home of love and comfort with nobody's knowledge that she was the vessel of a dangerous presence. And it targeted only one person. The gem of the estate.

"So what are you?" Kai asked, fingers digging through the chip bag. The rest of the week seemed slow. Rebekah, Hayley and Bonnie were in the city to catch up with each other. Elijah was with Hope and Klaus was nowhere to be found, no doubt with Cami. Leaving Kai on babysitting duty. "Yeah, yeah, you said you were a special firstborn and you were immortal so are you some sort of Pheonix?"
Freya laughed. "No. I am a witch. I inherited properties from my mother but after what she did...my power only strengthened when I was dormant."
"So you're like..." he ate a chip, crunching loud. "A massive hotspot for unspent magic, huh? Very convenient for me, I suppose. I can just, you know, accidentally bump into you and my tank will be full for the next month." Freya didn't smile. "Don't tell Bonnie I said that."
Freya straightened. "I hear you're a siphoner. You are the greediest and most vulnerable of the supernatural."
Kai sucked his fingers, anger settling in. "I don't know if you heard properly, but I'm also a sociopath. And I don't think it's the best idea to piss me off right now because I might just show you how greedy I am."
Freya chuckled. "I'd love to see you try. But I'm not trying to piss you off." She shrugged. "I'm thinking that with your genes combined with Bonnie's, your child might be as destructive as Hope. But be careful. I get a familiar essence whenever I'm around Bonnie."
"What does that mean?"
"I can feel...a vibe. It's almost like she did something she wasn't supposed to, it doesn't feel regular." She was talking about the fact that Bonnie wasn't supposed to be pregnant but none of them knew that. Bonnie decided to keep the secret to herself because it didn't matter anymore. "Talk to her. She might be keeping something from you."
Kai laughed. "BonBon and I don't keep secrets, we're well past that." A couple of months ago he came out and told her about the whole Sophie Devereux orchestration and his involvement with the prophecy. She was mad at first but after a couple of weeks, she came around and was glad that the end of the prophecy finally made sense.
Heel clopping both got their attention and soon, Cami emerged. Her hair was longer now and straightened. And her natural beauty shone so radiantly, she could have represented the sun itself. She cleared her throat. "Are you Freya?"
"Who's asking?" She crossed her arms.
"The person who is going to mend your relationship with your brother, Klaus," she answered. Freya narrowed her eyes. "We've made a breakthrough and I think it would really help if I got you two to talk out your issues."
"Is he aware?"
"What he doesn't know won't kill him. It's what's best for him."
"You might end up dead, Klaus has a deadly temper, one that matches mine as well," she stated.
Cami smiled, motioning for Freya to follow. "He'd never hurt me."

When morning rose, Bonnie was shocked to find Freya waiting in the living room of the mansion. Turns out that after talking it out with the help of Cami, Klaus and Freya came to a mutual understanding that they weren't going to hurt each other and that it was best if they set aside their differences. And to show that they were on good terms, he was allowing her to see Hope. Nobody mentioned it but they were proud of Klaus. He's always struggled with his trust issues but ever since he told Cami the real truth again and she was willing to help him, Klaus seemed more manageable.
"You are about to be mind blown by her overbearing cuteness," Rebekah said.
"Careful sister, you might be going soft," Klaus chuckled, planting both his hands on the couch behind Bonnie.
"Hope," Elijah called, pulling away from the window.
Bonnie grinned as she heard the familiar running footsteps. And there she was, the most prized living being of the family. Once Hope's gaze landed on Freya, she slowed down. "Hi," she said.
"Oh, my," Freya gushed, taking in the child. "Hi. She is so beautiful," she chuckled as she took a small step forward.
"My name is Hope," she said, swaying left to right. The fact that she stated it with more than one word was an indicator that she liked Freya.
"Hello Hope," she greeted, lowering to Hope's height. "I'm Aunt Freya."
"Aunt? How many aunties and uncles do I have?" She exclaimed. "I have Aunt Bonnie, Aunt Rebe, Uncle Elijah, Uncle Kol, Uncle Fin, when does it end?" She was rambling on now.
"Our family is big, little one," Klaus with a proud grin. "You will never feel alone."
"Always and forever," Hope said in sync with her father. Hayley and the rest smiled at the little bundle of joy.

"So if this is just another setup, I'll rip something out more important than a spleen. Like a tongue or a heart. So, any closing remarks?"
